We have a 5th wheel toy hauler and we come here to ride the trails. I think the trails are awesome, the only thing is that they are not 1 way - so you have to always be extremely cautious. We have been coming here for a couple of years now and I can honestly say I have not had a bad time/experience here. We typically come with a few friends and they bring their RV's as well. The staff has always been able to accommodate us with the buddy camping. The place is clean and looks nice. They do have full hook ups and I have never had an issue, the staff has always been kind, polite and professional with us. We have a trip booked in a few weeks and look forward to our stay!
Went for the second year with a group of friends to ride Dirtbikes, and this place was very disappointing this year under new ownership. My tent campsite had foot long grass, no shade, and was on a slope. We had an altercation with another group of campers where their daughter was hit by a pool ball on accident by our son, and her father assaulted him. He then came to our campsite with 3 friends to fight us so we were forced to call the police and security who did nothing and left telling us we couldn't go around their campsite and the shower/pool area because they were next to it. Thus making us have to use the restroom outside. The drunk group then played their music as loud as possible all night long. The security didn't enforce the noise curfew, so we didn't sleep for 2 nights. The management refused to refund our money or offer any concessions or rebate. I am so disappointed that I will never stay at a KOA ever again. We have hosted our group ride events here for 3 years and bring dozens of friends who will also not be staying at KOA resorts in the future. Don't go here!
I called ahead for a tent site, and they were to leave the check in slip for me at the front gate. When I arrive I find it run over and on the ground a fair distance from the gate? The wifi never worked, even the premium was out the next morning. They also gave me 4$ in quarters for laundry, then on my way inside holding all my laundry a worker tells me that they need to clean it but I am welcome to wait 3-4 hrs to do it later after check out. Great location, poor service and communication.
We go every year to this place and they're under new management again because they can't keep a good one. This year management didn't do anything to help us with an altercation of other drunk Campers when one of their kids got accidently hurt by one of ours. He came over rude and yelling and would not leave us alone. Called cops and the cops and security guard did nothing but tell us we can't use the bathroom/pool or recroom because they were beside it. We paid for a premium site to have those luxuries and they were taken away because the other party wanted to fight. How is that fair to us? We asked for a refund and were told no contact support and support says only managers can refund so we are out over $160 and didn't get to enjoy the rest of our stay!!! Will never return again and we hold events there every year! Huge disappointment KOA.
Love riding the Ocala National Forest from here. Then getting a hot shower and possibly a dip in the pool. The staff are very helpful and nice.Service: 5/5
The customer service from the office at this park was extremely dissapointing. . My original reservation was for 2 adults and one child. I had a friend and his son interested in joining us. This would have given us a third tent. I went up respectfully and made the office aware of my request and even stated that I would pay an additional charge for the tent on our space and was abruptly and rudely to no by one of the office ladies. It was expressed to me falsely that they only allow two tents per site as it is a Marion County Florida fire hazard, this information is untrue. There are limits to the number of people per site listed in their information but not number of tents. When I requested to speak to the manager he was called and he was extremely rude and said no and to purchase another site and even though he admitted to adjusting others reservations after check in he would not adjust mine. Please note they were no where close to fully booked. After making them aware that I would be contacting corporate and also requesting to speak to his supervisor I was told that it was not possible to speak to anyone above him and was given the option to " immediately vacate the premise with a full refund or purchase another full lot" I have not been provided with his name nor have I been provided and email copy or this very rude offer via email as I requested . The Koa customer standard he completely hit rock bottom and at this one particularly seems to find it exceptable to speak to customer like garbage. The abrupt language and flat out rude treatment was extremely surprising. I would not recommend staying at this campground unless you are comfortable with being spoken to rudely if there is an issue
If you like ATVs, unfriendly dogs, & little kids everywhere....this place is for you. Had 4 kids ride up to me and my dog as soon as we arrived and asked a million questions and the informed me that their dog was not nice at all. Obviously, since the beast was barking incessantly trying to yank himself from his chained post to get to us. Also they don't enforce the quiet after 10pm. Heard fireworks intermittently until 11:15. Very small dog park.
This is a large campground with spacious sites, full hookups, shady spots. There is a large pool and clubhouse. However, it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. They had no ice or firewood available and it's a bit of a drive to get to a town. Not your typical KOA. If you trail ride, this is a good place to be.
This is a camp ground for 4 wheel riding. That's about it. Large pool if you have kids. It's pet friendly. The one set of bathrooms were nasty with broken toilets. The next night the bathrooms were flooding with poo water.Location: 4/5
There weren't any level sites that could host our 50-amp rig. We tried to level for about an hour and a half and after our rig just couldn't do it, we left. It was really hard on us. We have a 2 year old and she ended up spending 10 hours in the car getting to the next campground instead of the 2.5 hours we had planned to go to this campground. This campground gave me a bad day and caused my family distress and anguish. Not what you want from a "vacation".
