I drove through to check it out as a potential spot. I felt as if I were transported to A 3rd world country. Travel trailers almost on tip of each other, dirt over almost 80% of the park where there should be lawns, and dilapidated modular homes, left to rot, almost a full year after Hurricane Ian took its toll here in SW Florida. it's a depressing place to look at, let alone spend any time here. The photos on line are false advertising. Encode should be ashamed of themselves. I looked at two other locations in FT Myers that were not much better. One of them, also an Encore "resort" also had deceiving on-line photos. Definitely photos of another place.
The photos are very deceiving. This is an old rv/mobile home park. The sites are VERY tight. I have a 38 ft. and the site was just long enough. The old management utility boxes are still there some wrapped in tape with circuit boards hanging out. Most sites are occupied by permies and rentals. Some collapsed trailers with overgrown trees and shrubs make the park unsightly. This park needs some work. The roads are JUST wide enough for an 8ft. wide camper. The laundry facilities are nice and working. The trash compactor may or may not be available. There is no wifi. The permies left us alone and were friendly. I will not be back.
Worst Encore campground yet. Tried to be understanding because what the area has been through because of the storm so decided to overlooked debris, constant construction, & occasionally water being cut off without noticed. But the lot they had pulled us in was so unlevel because of tree stump, it looked like our RV was going tip over. Then the neighbors that came over the weekend got loud & louder with their music not to mention all the yelling. It was sad because all of the other neighbors were super nice but didn't see much since they staying away because of chaos. There were several complaints made but nothing done. Almost forgot to mention, random people that are not with campground will come in to swim at the pool & also were warn don't leave electric bikes out because they WILL BE STOLEN.
We were there 2 months total. It was quiet and no one bothered us. Office is wonderfully helpful. Pool is clean. Close to everything you need. I will say though, that second bathroom need to be remodeled DESPERATELY. It being a “resort” and in the Encore network, I expected a little nicer. Beware of the super narrow streets. The sites are decent size. Overall, I’d go back.
Stayed here almost a month and although many spots are tight we got a good spot between two houses. There is a mix of people who are full timers, snowbirds and short term vacationers. I enjoyed activities including kayaking and potluck dinners. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. They are one of the few places that allow more than 2 dogs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Folks here all very welcoming and felt very safe and right at home. It is kept very clean and would definitely come back!
I was put in a travel trailer not a cottage, wasn't told it was going to be a travel trailer , and on top of that none of the power outlets work in the place but one cord for the TV refrigerator and microwave and the power cord runs down in front of the gas stove ! It is lucky that the bedroom has power so we can charge our phones. 700 hundred dollars for 6 days for this ! They should pay me to stay.
I rented an air bnb here for a month. The park is adorable. The people don't mind their business at all though even if you are just guest there. Apparently someone in the park was targeting my boyfriend saying his revs his engine and was speeding through the parking lot. We are grown adults who got up every morning to go to work and come back. The park is small as well as the roads you couldn't speed even if you tried. People in the park owned motorcycles and diesel trucks that literally would shake our camper and wake us up but we never complained. People had dogs that aggressively and annoyingly barked at you when they saw you. Yet my boyfriend was being targeted all because his car, which is an older stick shift car made noise when you started it up. My only guess is that he was being targeted for a noise complaint due to his skin color seeing that there isn't much diversity and they didn't want him there.
Fun little campground right by Fort Myers Beach. Not very spacious, parking was tight. But we didn't mind as our neighbors were great. They had a bingo night when we were there and our sons were thrilled to win some money. Heated pool was nice too!
It's kind of a dump. Our 25 ft truck with our 35 ft trailer BARELY fit in the assigned spot. The streets and turns are so narrow, we had to go the wrong way on a one-way street to get out of there. The lots are grass pads, but needed little leveling. They give you a list of the TV channels you can get via the free cable, but there isn't really any cable. The permanent resident next to us bought Dish for himself. The fenced dog park is a joke. The fence is 3 ft high, and the area is only about 25' x 25', if that. We have a dog who is very tall and he could easily jump that little fence. Showers are fairly clean, but everything very old. It needs updating badly. On a gentler note, I think the reason it's not nicer is that the management or owners are trying to be kind to the many permanent residents. That's the majority here. If improvements are done, their lot rent goes up. Just keep mind it's a budget stay and like it anyway.
I only stayed for one night at an Airbnb inside the park, but the facilities were clean and they seemed to have a lot to offer. There was a pool, hot tubs, picnic areas, and everything looked fairly well maintained. The layout was a bit confusing and could have been more clearly marked, but we were very satisfied and felt completely safe there as visitors from outside the area.
