This 719 acre Conservation 20/20 Preserve features a natural sandy beach with swimming, composting toilets, a canoe/kayak launch, and a picnicking area.
Lee County has owned a 1/2 acre parcel at the very end of John Morris Road since 1949. In 2001, Conservation 20/20 began purchasing the environmentally sensitive land around that original parcel and in 2010 the public beach facilities were completed and opened to the public. These included ADA parking, restrooms, fishing piers, canoe/kayak launch, picnic tables, and a small boardwalk overlooking Rock Creek. On the sandy beach, ther is an ADA mobie mat that leads to an ADA picnic table.
Mission Statement: To acquire properties of environmental significance, restore those lands to their natural state and condition, manage them in an environmentally acceptable manner and provide public recreational opportunities that are compatible with protecting the natural resources.
