People who say "cardboard" must not like thin crust pies. This was closer to real NY style pizza for those of us who prefer a thin and crispy crust to the the bready kind. Good ratio of sauce and cheese. Don't know about decor because they delivered to us but Google made me fill out all boxes to review.
Had it delivered, so not sure what the place looks like. The crust is excellent, but the sauce needs more flavor. We ordered this pizza in 2012 and 2011 and it was better, sauce-wise. Still very good, but would be excellent with a better sauce. Service is a little spacey, i.e. like little stoner kids answering the phone and delivering the pizza, but they got the pizza right so no biggie.
These kids are too high for their own good, and yours too. I would bypass this place in the future. Whom over owns Surf Pie is asleep at the wheel and the high mice are playing. Thumbs down ! They are incapable of producing a pie "extra crispy" and why? To high ! BTW, I keep an apartment in NYC New York Cityvillage and if they come to NYC they will be knifed, socked, or shot in the face for the excuse they offer as pizza. The beach is full of drunk, high, or otherwise medicated people, this is not exception.
We checked in late to our hotel and decided to have pizza delivered. We ordered a large pie and some beach bread. Both were excellent. The toppings were very fresh. Staff was courteous on the phone.
