Great place to go fishing for Rainbow Trout, has a dock for the youngsters to put a line in the water if shore fishing isn't your thing. Great family friendly swim area during the summer with huge inflatables!!
Peaceful place. Good for family and kids. If you like fishing and swimming then you must visit here. Plenty of space for parking. Avoid using public toilet.
Reclaimed gravel pit turned local watering hole. Small lake with deep dropouts and a large expanse of sandy beach and grassy hillside. Surrounding park offers bathrooms, picnic shelter, picnic tables and swinging benches, playground, fishing pier and carry-in boat access. For a fee, there is a floatable obstacle course. Beach and bathrooms do not open till 12 and a single porta potty on the park grounds is in need of service. Once bathrooms did open, found them to dark and dank, offering no hand soap/sanitizer and/or hand dryers. Not much better than the porta potty. Biking/walking paths are available but now closed to bikes because of the rough condition of them. Overall park is maintained but certainly could benefit with some updates and TLC.
Excellent place for fishing and swimming
Wonderful walk all around the water. Plenty of spots to stop and relax, fish or picnic. Awesome park for the kids here. Beach during the summer with swimming.
Great place to take the kids fishing that allows them to catch. There are lots of small fish that bite quickly. Funny entertainment for everyone. You can also canoe, kayak and swim in the water. During the winter there is ice fishing. Please note that you need a Trout license to fish here.
Went today for the Polar Plunge. Had a blast on the 32*F water, which incidently is the temp that water freezes. But everything goes to MN Special Olympics. Well worth it.
Great Park. I wish the beach area against the water was larger. You cannot bring your dogs to the beach section. There is a cute little park for kids to play. There are hidden trails over by the boat launch in the woods that are perfect for you to take your dog off leash. However, it is really close to the main road so be aware of this if you are going to take your dog off leash.
This picture was taken last summer 2020. Went fishing after work. Brought my dogs and waiting till sunset. The beach area was closed during pandemic.
First time to this beach, and gotta say I'm impressed. Rochester needs more get-aways like this. Totally surrounded by trees, makes you feel like you're far from the busy city, but in fact you're minutes from downtown. The beach was clean and well kept. Plenty of parking available! Will for sure be going back!
