About

If you have questions regarding North Beach Park, please contact the City of Racine, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department (262) 636-9131.

The North Beach Oasis will be managed by Benjamin Beer for the 2017 summer season.

Description

North Beach Park is open for public use during park hours from 6a-10p. The beach is guarded from 10a-6p, 7 days a week from the second full weekend in June through the 3rd full week of August.

North Beach is Wisconsin's first beach to be designated as a Certified Blue Wave clean beach by the National Clean Beaches Council and was most recently voted #4 in USA Today's 2016 Reader's Choice 10 Best Freshwater Beaches.

North Beach has also previously appeared within the Top 10 Family Friendly Beaches listed compiled by Parents magazine, was one of USA Today's 51 Great American Beaches, was featured in Midwest Living magazine, and nationally known expert Dr. Stephen Leatherman, nicknamed "Dr. Beach", honorably mentioned North Beach as being the most improved Great Lakes Beach. He cited North Beach's handicap ramps and summer community use as proof of the beach's pro-active management in his rankings of the Top 5 Great - Great Lakes Beaches. He also gave his nod to its impressive size of 50 acres along 2,500 feet of shoreline allowing visitors to spread out to play in the soft sand and cooling waters and has an impressive playground to add to the fun.

Needless to say, we are very proud to call North Beach ours.

Excellent place for the family! Pretty shallow for younger kids as well as sand pretty far out for everyone! Snacks are available, as well as beer, on the patio only. Sand volleyball, live bands on the weekends!! We just went earlier in the day with the kids, but I could see it being a lot of fun in the evening as well! Nice outside shower to get the sand off, near the bathrooms and food counter.
There is plenty of parking, a huge playground, a very nice pathway down to the beach. Not very crowded, but several life guards available until at least 6 or 7 pm I lost track of the time. You can see 2 light houses nearby and a marina.
North Beach was clean and beautiful! There are lifeguards on duty, and there is a snack shack! Definitely a great place to visit and swim in Lake Michigan! The beach is free and not overly crowded. Plenty of room for everyone!
Racing North Beach is an amazing place to visit. The beach itself is very big. In fact, it's the biggest widest beach that I've even been to. The beach is very clean and filled with thick layers of powdery sand. It's not crowded, and I don't think anybody has to worry about not finding a spot for your beach umbrella or your tent. There is a playing park for the kids as well. Overall it is a beautiful beach and I highly recommend it.
Beautiful sand. Very clean. No lifeguards but bins of life vests. Great view of Lake Michigan and the Wind Point lighthouse.
I have been enjoying this Wonderful beach for years. Nice oasis with snacks, cold drinks, and music. Water was a little chill but a very relaxing place to spend the day!
We had a beautiful time at north beach. It was the perfect day, not too busy or crowded. A nice little spot if you don’t want to travel far for the beach experience.
First time swimming in a lake that for every way you can think save one feels like going to the ocean... it's just like that minus the salty brine... I honestly was fighting the urge to move here just to be closer, so i could be able to do this with daily frequency... it's that good... this will ruin what memories you may have about outings and how lakes go for you... for those with handicaps or disabilities this beach has a lot of walking and most of it is through sand no walkways or pathing to get you to the water come prepared to struggle a bit but it's worth it if you can make it down to the waters edge. Water was warmer than I get back in Massachusetts, and the sand bars will leave you feeling like a water God! Best beach ever and a must do once in a lifetime experience. Just be ready to walk, and parking is pure hell.
Great place to visit, even though it's the middle of October. Clean & nice place to walk.
First time here and it’s ok. I was there for the 5K run and I don’t know why but it smelled like piss near the beach. It looks like a nice beach but that day I was there is just smells.
