We stayed here in our 28' camper and it was very nice. It's a bit noisy due to I40 at the road level. You have to watch the entrance, it comes up pretty quickly. Then you have a narrow, steep short downhill. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone underpowered. When you exit your on that same steep, narrow hill. You may have to start from a dead stop pulling your trailer. But it's beautiful here, right on the Pigeon River. We saw a bear on the other side and rafting is just down the road. Tent sites are right on the river.
Great campground in Hartford. We tent camp which allows you to stay right along the river. There's also RV spots with hook-ups and some cabins. Also walking distance to Bootleggers Moonshine for some tastings. Near the Interstate so there will be noise from the trucks at night.
Great place for easy access to all the water and mountain activities the area has to offer. There are RV and car camping sites. We stayed in a cabin which was really nice and reasonably priced. The VHS collection was on point. Located right on the river. Nearby activities: White water rafting/boating on the Pigeon. Hiking and trail running near by short drive Food & drinks: Coffee shop n restaurant in town. There are food trucks at the outposts during the rafting season
RV/Tents/Cabins Campground very accessible from I-40 in Hartford, TN Near NC State line. Large, clean, comfortable riverside. Go rafting.
Wonderful staff, SUPER clean restrooms and very accommodating owners! We had a huge group stay at the tent sites on the river and had a great time.Hotel highlightsKid-friendly
Beautiful campground, but kinda noisy with being right next to the highway, hearing the large semi trucks rolling through all night slightly impacted the stay, but wouldn't rule out my return. Close to zip lining, hiking, the great Smoky mountains and white water rafting in the river.
Clean campground with less than a couple minutes access to the River! Depending on the damn and flow you can walk the river, Wade, or paddle. Literally a mile away from “downtown” Hartford. We rafted with Rafting in the Smokies and loved it especially as we passed the campground on our family float. Restrooms were clean. We chose the “Full Hookup” campsite for our travel trailer. Lots of space to enjoy!
The owners have a 10 day cancellation policy for any kind of refund. Wont ever stay there again. I called ahead to cancel and they still kept the full amount I paid for the site. There are plenty of places around that will work with you and have friendlier policies in place for their patrons, in case you need to cancel your reservation. Lots of other choices.
It was just by chance that my husband and I ended up here but I am sure thankful we did. We snagged one night at a cabin as we were traveling through and it was by far the best night of our trip! Perhaps it was the simplicity that stood out and made us fall in love. Irregardless, we swam in the cool river and it was a blast. There was plenty of spaces to walk, swim, listen to the river, and even a small field perfect for playing any kind of games with the family. We went to a nearby Walmart and was able to cook our own meal followed by marshmallows by the fire pit. Wood was available for purchase and there were shower houses and dumpsters. I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin, though! It was fully stocked, comfy, cozy, and, most importantly, clean. I am a bit OCD and thoroughly inspect places before staying and this passed all tests minus a little hair at the the shower drain. Otherwise this place is up picturesque and a true hidden gem.
We loved it here. Debbie is an exceptional host and can give you some great tips about area attractions. Our riverside campsite was picture perfect. Clean, quiet, and beautiful. You will see probably a couple hundred rafts going by a day, so just have that as an expectation. The river sites were a bit close together but we were the only campers there so it didn’t bother us. Next time we probably will rent two as a precaution, as I think it would be pretty tight and uncomfortable if we had any neighbors.
