The added bonus of this park is the incredible Fox Park Observatory. It's a fun place to visit, and be sure to bring the kids, and let em look at planets, distant galaxies, and other cool space attractions.
The beach area is sandy and the park is well maintained. The water felt wonderful on this hot day! Daily pass: $3 fee for Eaton County residents or $5 for non-residents.
Public night at the Observatory was great! Informative, super nice and welcoming and several telescopes to see our amazing universe. Everyone should go at least once!
The lake is very well kept. The beach is very nice and a larg sandy beach considering how small the lake is. It is surprisingly deep too. It has showers and restrooms as well. I was very i.pressed with this tiny lake. Awesome place to enjoy a day off or holiday!
Small county lake with clear warm water. Marked swimming area with no life guards, fishing area, picnic areas with grills a covered pavilion. There is a wheelchair accessible ramp into the swimming area. Water is so clear you can see small fish swimming near the ramp. Kids love watching them. Small sandy beach with grassy area with playground. Some walking trails into the wooded area. Would recommend
Nice little swimming home and beach plus a couple playground options and some fishing sections. Also have a few picnic areas. Really enjoyed it!
Decent local place to go to for Sun Tanning. It's clearly a man-made water source. It didn't feel too icky. Usually pretty crowded in the summertime. Sort of limited restroom options. If the modern facilities are shutdown, which they seem to have been more than a fair share, there are older restroom facilities on the forested side of the large Watering Hole. They were pretty clean probably because not too many people know that they're there and they actually work, meaning not used often, which means not shut down. But who are we kidding everyone pees in the water anyway. Not a bad place if you're local. If you think you're going to have some sort of Lake Michigan experience here, think otherwise. It suffices if you can't afford to make it to the coast.
