Fragrance Vault is a new, exciting boutique opening in South Lake Tahoe on February 1, 2012. Run by local resident Jana Menard, Fragrance Vault offers fine perfumes for men, women, and children, organic fair trade essential oils and incense, vintage and current books on perfumery, and 7-free nail lacquer from LVX. Ordered La Isla Blance and was surprised at how fast delivery was. Can only imagine how the experience in the store would be. Would have liked to see some samples in my box with my purchase as it helps people decide on next fragrance to aquire. But other then that great experience on my purchase.
Entered the store. Greeted from the far back by a woman who never left her chair. Asked whether they sold designer perfumes or dupes- trying to figure out what we just walked into. She said only designer. Explained the quadrants of the store - what’s where. Asked for Coco Mademoiselle- they’re out. Asked for Valentino Born in Roma - they’re out. Asked for Tom Ford Lost Cherry - they’re out.Asked about a line we weren’t familiar with it’s Japanese and picked up the bottles to see which one we’d like to smell. “Ma’am I’ll have to ask you to stop picking up the bottles. It’s an insurance thing.” So how do we smell them? She says if there’s something you’d like to smell I will assist you. Never have I ever been in a fragrance store that uses vinegar in display bottles and doesn’t have testers. If that’s your business model, I can accept and even appreciate that but it’s on you to educate shoppers - perhaps get up from your chair????? Would not buy anything here. Horrible experience.
This is not your regular store. I’m not “shopping” when I’m in there. I’m having a mind-opening, captivating sensory experience. All three of these ladies, every time I go in give me such a wonderful time. They work with me until I find exactly the fragrances I want, pulling out new fragrances based on whatever feedback I give on the ones I’m smelling. They’re just so much fun to talk to and I can tell they’re all passionate about fragrances and enjoy sharing the experiences that each one provides. They are incredibly generous with their guidance and letting you smell their inventory, which is MASSIVE btw. This has very quickly become one of my favorite places. This is a must-stop if you’re in the area. World-class!
This place was amazing! Jana was very knowledgeable and really took care of us! I was impressed by the selection of discontinued and niche fragrances that are hard to find. This is definitely going to be a regular stop for me when in Tahoe. Also, make sure you give Oliver plenty of pets and loves as he is the best boy.
Jana was an incredibly knowledgeable professional and assisted a small group of us fragrance enthusiasts in finding new frags to try/buy! Extremely knowledgeable over their entire offerings of super rare and niche frags!
Went here on a road trip from Oregon to Texas. I was impressed with the selection of #bondno9 cologne and perfume they had! The lady behind the counter was helpful without being too salesy. If I lived in the area or was ready to buy when I stopped in, this would be the place I would buy. Top notch shop!
Jana was amazing. I spent 2 hours in the store with her just talking about fragrances before making my purchases! Her customer service was impeccable. Her stock was like no other store I have been to. Designer fragrances, niche fragrances, and vintage. Jana took the time to share her knowledge about each fragrance I was into! As I promised her, Fragrance Vault will be my new go to place and the website is great! I for one will be supporting this small business and you should too!
I love this store! I go to Lake Tahoe every 1-2 years and just discovered this store on my last trip. If you are a fragrance lover/collector you MUST go here. The selection is out of this world and the owner is so knowledgable and kind. I ended up buying two amazing fragrances and plan to be back every time I'm in the area.
Discovering this place was a dream come true! A real chance to purchase and experience rare and unique collectors' items, authentic and well preserved. A big thank you to Jana for this wonderful experience!
I gifted my mother a vintage perfume from D&G Christmas 2021 all the way from eastern Canada. Arrived shortly after Christmas considering I ordered it last minute, but worth the wait. The customer service and product knowledge is excellent here. Thank you to the founder, so lovely to speak with.
