This gallery is really small but I really enjoyed that. Entrance fee is by donation. There were 2-3 main photography exhibits and I loved them! The space is well-curated and we had a good time. Love the gift shop too :
Staff were friendly. Entrance fee is by donation, we paid 10 per person. There was 3 exhibitions going on and we spent good hour here. Looking forward to revisit in the future.
Love this place. Spectacular setting. Saw the Leaving & Waving show a while back and got to chat with their photographer, Deanna Dikeman. The As We Rise show was powerful and I love where the title comes from also. Keep up the great shows.
This is a really beautiful gallery in a beautiful location. Right in the Center of the Shipyards! It’s easy to get to by transit and surrounded by shops and restaurants. They also have their own gift shop that has a wide variety of items, mostly locally made. The hall itself is quite small but it’s entry by donation which makes allows access to all. Definitely worth checking out.
First time visiting the polygon. I love the look of the space overall. Very pleasing to the eye. Lovvvvvve that there was a gallery showcasing black people!
5 star, European quality gallery. Fantastic use of space and high quality exhibits. What let it down was the staff on the ground floor. As soon as I opened the door one of the women guided me to the desk and explained they expect $10, even though it's by donation. I barely had time to put my umbrella away. I typically do between $5-$20 anyway so no stress here. Just felt an abrupt and unnecessary hard sell. Certainly no warm welcome. Once I finished viewing the exhibits I took a few minutes to browse the retail side. Three women following customers through the store, yet none saying "hello", "can I help?" or "welcome". I left very confused. I wouldn't have minded any of this if it were done with manners and a welcoming vibe. You can still watch for thieves while being nice and giving service. May actually find sales increase..
Honestly kind of an awkward experience because you cant just walk in even though it says by donation only you have to 'check-in' and then be told that it's $10 minimum donation. LoL. this is by Polygon developers! No one should have to pay anything. Also polygon makes the worst buildings! don't buy! they leak!
I wish to revisit this gallery when there is new exhibition.
This place is amazing. The staff is really friendly and it’s location is awesome. If you’re free on a sunny day then do make a visit at this gallery. It’s very interesting plus there are some breathtaking views outside this gallery.
So I came with my family but instantly felt uncomfortable, there was something about the way reception buzzes around you and you cannot just drop some money into the donation box and head on up. No, there's more pressure to pay more and interact with the workers and I personally felt uncomfortable. I saw others come in wanting to visit the gallery just to leave a minute later, probably from the pushy judgy people working here. We left as well, without going in. Maybe one day. Also they sell some products which are nice to browse through but wow prices are abhorrent.
