Very accommodating staff! Offers various activities almost daily which provides supports to families and nurtures children and children's at heart love for reading and learning. One of my favorite libraries to go to! Facility is neat and no overwhelming though selection may be limited compared to bigger libraries :
The staff here are always so welcoming! I feel so warm being here. Always would have my book ready for me. I have never seen this place dirty or unorganized. Happy for this place to exist.
Best library around. Why? Because the people working there are lovely. Always smiling and happy. They offer many different programs free if charge. Today Mandy read some books and sang some songs at baby time. She is very attentive and if your baby want to wander in the room it's perfectly fine. She was a real joy today
Great community library very involved with youth programs in North Delta, helpful staff and a good selection of books that are always being replenished. Good for studying, with many available computers and study rooms, as well as special events aimed for children throughout the year.
Great community library! The computer stations are a bit dated but they have a great selection of books and movies! Be sure to sign up your kids for the summer reading club every year! The staff are very nice and friendly to all.
I visited this library recently and was disappointed with how loud it was. The noise level made it difficult for me to concentrate and get my work done. Many people talking loudly and not respecting the library rules of silence. Please make a quite area so people like me could focus on their study or work.
Best experience. Helped me with scanning stuff and really good communication and polite staff.
This library is always clean, tidy, and quiet throughout the many years I have been coming here. Staff is always kind and helpful. Wide selection of books are available, including a decently sized kids section. As this library is a part of the FVRL system, you can request books from any library in the system and have them delivered to your library of choice. There are outdoor bins that you can use to drop off books, and the bins are undercover. They have done many renovations which has made the space more modern, including easier to access bathrooms.
We had good experience in this library, until we attended the stem paper airplane. My son and his friend doesn’t want to join the race, and the staff let us stay at the side or out of the room. The kids wants to watch and stay by the door. The staff let the kids who’s my son’s friend mother goes into the room. And close the door leave us out. Two poor kids now have no interest for the airplane race interest anymore.
George Mackie Library is located at 112th @ 84th in Delta. It's a great library accessible from Hwy 91, Nordel Way or Hwy 10, Scott Rd. A clean, quiet library with a lot of aisle space. It has a decent collection and is larger than nearby Strawberry Hill library. This location is connected to the Fraser Valley Regional Library system which is separate from from Surrey Libraries.
