Fratellos Appleton offers a contemporary, urban feel with a hint of history with it's original Vulcan Hydroelectric Power Plant's architecture surrounding it's oh-so-chic dining room and outdoor deck – all overlooking the Fox River. And the food? Just the way you like it: Good and simple, featuring a tasteful array of seafood, steaks, pastas, sandwiches and pizzas. It's picturesque full bar offers their own handcrafted Fox River Brewing Co. beer, award winning wine list and extensive martini list (48!) as well as daily Happy Hour from 3-6 pm, Monday through Friday. The location and atmosphere were fantastic! They were busy by 6 on Friday. Sitting on the patio with the water rushing was lovely. The server was very attentive and gave good suggestions. The cocktails were yummy! The warm bread appetizer was good. We had the elk burger and lobster roll. We enjoyed the food but wished it had a little more flair. A fun sauce would have made the burger much better. We didn't try dessert but will next time. It's a nice place to bring out of town friends and family to show off the pretty view.
Visited this place when I was visiting my friend in Appleton. Great atmosphere and service. We ordered a few beers, Wisconsin cheese curds, truffle fries, charred octopus, and a chocolate cake dessert. The fly ruffle fries could have been more crispier and the dessert needed to be more softer. Other than that, everything else was great. I would still recommend this place if you are in Appleton.
This place is so neat! Outdoor dining experience is one of a kind! The sound of the water rushing, and the scenes of the pelicans, geese, ducks, seagulls! Soooo cool! Then the food! I can’t say enough! Yum! On a scale of one to ten I give it a 20!!
Amazing experience!! Great food and the best service we’ve had in Appleton! We celebrated our anniversary and they provided Champaign and a piece of cake delicious, btw! We ordered Bruschetta 7/10, Truffle Shrimp Carbonara 10/10, House Salad 9/10, Moscow Mule 8/10 and Cioccolato Fiorentino 10000/10
I surprised my mom at this restaurant! I flew in from Burbank, and my sister planned that we surprise my mom at Fratellos Riverfront Restaurant. Everyone was so friendly! Great food and great service! If you are in Appleton, stop by Fratellos!Food: 5/5
We got the Italian chicken, Atlantic salmon and the bam bam shrimp as an appetizer. The shrimp was very good but you only get 5 pieces for $16. The chicken was more on the dry side and the salmon didn’t have much flavor. We sat outside and had a nice view. Our waitress was nice but lacked understanding of the menu. Went spent about $100 here
I haven’t tried any of the food, but I enjoy stopping here for a glass of wine once and a while during happy hour. They offer $1 off between the hours of 3-6pm I believe. They have a great selection of wine and a nice bar area to sit at. I love the ambiance and view of the Fox River as well as the set up. The high top bar tables are uniquely designed and provide an intimate experience to share with another; or just by yourself. I take my laptop to get some work done and have had a great experience with their wifi connection as well.
There are some gems on the menu, namely the octopus. Everything is good, but the octopus is heavenly. It's an airy, modern restaurant overlooking the river, pelicans are fun to observe.Food: 4/5
Man, I want to give this place 5 stars so bad, but I just can’t. It’s a hit or miss restaurant. The food is incredible on some visits, and other times your charred octopus tastes like lighter fluid and the lobster quesadilla is painfully simple. Sometimes everything is prepared excellently with tons of flavor, and sometimes it’s bland. ‍ The service is the same. Sometimes it’s incredibly attentive and friendly, and other times it’s weird. The manager tries really hard, but sometimes his efforts to care for guests come off awkward. We love the dining room and bar atmosphere, and appreciate their extended drink menu offerings and being open till 9pm during the week which is unusual for Appleton.
Delicious food. You can tell a chef created your food by the taste. My server, Matt, enhanced the experience with his gracious demeanor.Food: 5/5
