I buried my mother in law dec of 2021. It’s cost us around $20,000. Everything was cool up until when they were covering the grave. After placing the cover on the vault, they stepped my mother in laws vault to bring a water pipe threw buriel spot, the grave. It was so insulting to all of us. Specially my wife and sister in law. The funeral person that has handling our account, couldn’t believe it either. He was so embarrassed. He called over the person in charge of the plot for an explanation. She came over and told us she didn’t know and that was it. She was very cold in my opinion. The priest also told us that we should except such a thing. I will never ever use their services again. They were so cold about the situation and just proceeded despite the mistake. It literal ruined that moment of goodbye. Literal insult to injury. We are Hispanic, and in my opinion , as Hispanic people we always have to accept misfortunes and walk away. And by the way, the guy / person In charge of our account never called us again to see how we were doing. Ever. Ever. So much for compassion. Attached are pictures.
I just wanted to say how helpful Lorena was in helping out families with a flower order. We were out of town and she made the information so easy to send flowers to my loved one. She had a great personality and very helpful.

Very pleased with the hospitality during and after the viewing of the body. The funeral home was beautiful and as the only family member down here to mother, I planned the entire funeral. My family flew in from NY and was extremely happy with all the arrangements and that we sent my mother away with a beautiful ceremony

This is the first time I had to make funeral arrangements. It was for my father, Stanley Taraszewski Sr. -- I had NO idea what to do. I feel extremely blessed to have chosen Fred Hunter's for my father's funeral/burial etc because I literally picked them out of the blue. I still can NOT believe how smooth and easy it was to take care of all of the decisions and preparations during this sensitive time. I want to personally thank and give the biggest praise & high five to my funeral director Josiah LeBlanc. My family LOVED this man & his 'crew'. I can not tell you how many times I emailed Josiah changing plans, adding plans or you name it, I probably did it, yet he was always kind and OVERLY obliged to help me. Our special day was beautiful. Perfect. Everyone that was involved, from the staff at Fred Hunter's to limo drivers, to the outsourcing for my father's coast guard honors and bagpiper was just 100% perfect-o! Mark was kind and helpful to my sister and I following the unexpected death of our brother. We were only in town for a short while and really wanted to see our brother before the cremation. Mark arranged that to work for our tight time schedule. He continued to be helpful after we left always very prompt in returning calls and in responding to our requests. Thanks to Mark and also to Maria who was also very kind and helpful in responding to our many questions and concerns.
Here is a big clue for those of you who are thinking of using Fred Hunter....you can get the same service for a lot less by using Cremation Society of America. What Fred Hunter isn't telling you is that Cremation Society of America is the same company as Fred Hunter, just at a different price. Fred Hunter, providing the service through Cremation Society of America, is $795. If you paid more than that you were ripped off. So, if you want to pay less for Fred Hunter, use Cremation Society of America. Or, here's a better idea...use someone that has transparent pricing and doesn't bait and switch.
A funeral for a loved one is, necessarily, an event that is extremely emotional and difficult to plan. You need a steady and caring hand to guide you through the process, and that is precisely what Mark and his incredible team at Fred Hunter's provide. My grandmother was truly one-of-a-kind and she had a very specific vision for her services: a Mardi Gras themed celebration of life. At every step, the Fred Hunter's team brought this vision to life by amongst many other things guiding us to the perfect florist for a beautiful green, purple, and gold arrangement; assisting us with all the little New Orleans touches for the service itself; and coming to the cemetery with us after the service to take care of everything from parking to ensuring that the 9-piece jazz band was in place for an unforgettable send-off. I am also 100% certain that if a loved one did NOT have as specific a vision as my Gram that Fred Hunter's would be invaluable in helping plan a service that honored him/her in a loving, respectful, dignified manner. The past 2 weeks have been an incredibly hard time for me and my family but they were made immeasurably easier by Fred Hunter's walking alongside us and making sure that my grandma had the goodbye she always wanted and the beautiful and unique send-off she so richly deserved. Thank you to the team from the bottom of my heart.
Very professional and organized funeral home. The people including the funeral director were also very friendly and compassionate. I didn't feel like they were just trying to take my money like another funeral home here locally I have dealt with.
