I, unfortunately, have had to do this process for a couple of family members now and it is never an easy thing to do. I am from a small town in Kansas originally and when my father passed there were only 2 funeral homes in town. You pretty much knew where you had to go and everyone already knew my father so I didn't have to do much. Fast forward 10 years and I find out my Brother has passed away in Florida & doesn't have his affairs in order and had created a ton of animosity between his wife and his family. Enter Sergio, how this man was able to navigate the likes of my mother and my brother's wife with such grace and form had me taking notes and paying close attention. I was afraid that I wouldn't get the kind of care that I got from my hometown funeral home in a place like this and that we would just be another #. Sergio proved that not to be the case 10 times over and in most cases probably did better than the hometown. I will cut it off by simply saying thank you to the Fred Hunter team from me. But to also leave this from my Mother herself "There is no better person to assist in your time of sorrow than Sergio. He is patient and kind beyond reasonable expectations. Sergio can read the room and immediately know how to steer the process and personalities. There are no adequate words to express my appreciation."
Fred Hunters Funeral in Davie is wonderful! At a time of heartache and loss, from the start, Sergio made my family feel at ease and comforted. His assistance with all of the arrangements, details, and organization of the mass service was lovely and made the loss easier on my family. We just buried my father, who was a US Air Force Veteran. The experience with Fred Hunter was amazing. This was our first experience planning a funeral, and Sergio and team were our saving grace.... They were very transparent, they dealt with the South Florida National Cemetery expeditiously for a military honors burial in a timely manner, and everything was perfectly smooth and pleasant. It was actually a pleasure to plan this funeral with Sergio and the Fred Hunter team. When my brother and our family were with Sergio and we were having some disagreements, Sergio gave us time to sort out our family preferences- no pressure to make a rapid decision and sign on the dotted line. He knew to step back and when to provide guidance. I don't know where I would be without Sergio and Fred Hunter's staff. The process was just so smooth, the pricing was transparent, and I am actually thinking of planning mine and my husband's funeral so as not to leave this mess to my kids. Michele and her staff went above and beyond to help and make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted. Michele assisted with every detail, from the movement of mom's remains from Italy to the USA for the funeral and cremation. To the repratiation of her cremated remains to the DR and to Italy. What a great team of professionals at the Davie location. The location is maintained beautifully. Sergio and his entire staff helped me and my family during a very difficult time. Sergio and his team were absolutely amazing through the process of putting my mom to rest. The attention to detail and level of empathy they showed to our family was greatly appreciated. No request was too small or insignificant, he made it happen without a second thought. He guided and explained everything to us. It was comforting to know that we were in knowledgeable hands. The staff workers at the visitation were also accommodating to our needs and also comforting through the night. Sergio and his staff are incredibly professional and sympathetic. Sergio took excellent care of our family. He was helpful and patient with our requests and questions. The services provided were all done perfectly and with compassion and grace. We also were treated extremely well at the Taft home and all of the arrangements were coordinated perfectly between the two sites. The home’s attendants at our memorial were gentle and helpful. This experience truly helped our mourning and healing process begin.
My family and I choose Fred Hunter's after our encounter with Sergio and Steven, both of whom made us feel that we and our loved one would be in good hands. In that first meeting, we were treated as if we were a priority, even though there was another service going on. That reception assuaged most of our anxieties regarding final arrangements for our loved one. Sergio displayed an organized approach to the process throughout, and his guidance was invaluable. At the time of writing this review, Steven continues to provide, much needed, additional support to our family now that the Memorial Service is past. These support services provide guidance on the next steps after losing our loved one. If you find yourself in need of their services, I recommend working with this team, who will really pay attention to your needs, because our experience was great, even though it was a somber occasion that brought us together in partnership.
