I live in Phoenix so when my passport was about to expire I decided to fly to LA to the consulate to get it renewed. I was able to get an appointment easily 2 weeks in advance, I arrived 45 minutes before my appointment and was taken care of right away. The people here are very nice, knowledgeable and efficient. I was out within maybe 20 minutes so before my original appointment! I received my passport 2 weeks later without any issues, everything is really well organized. Side note: the only tricky part is the passport photo which follows french standards, you can get the photo taken at Walgreens but you'll have to cut it properly by yourself. Merci ! :-
We went to the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles first to declare the birth of our child to the French authorities, as well as getting him a passport. Since we live 2 hours away, they made it very convenient for us to get both appointments in the same day, and even better: one after the other. Everyone was very welcoming and efficient, and the entirety of the process took less than an hour. We really appreciated the experience!

I wanted to warmly thank the French Consulate of Los Angeles for it's help and reactivity when I was in a terrible situation. Indeed, I lost my passport and had no way to fly back to France. I reached out to Julie Duhaut-Bedos through social media to tell my situation. In the next 2 hours, the consulate called me, received me at the office on the same day and delivered me a pass that helped me go back to France. Thank you and the whole staff for helping me in this delicate situation.
I went to the consulate twice - to request a French passport and today to pick it up. Everyone was very helpful, answered all my questions. The young lady that helped me today was fantastic! Very happy to have dual citizenship! Merci
Very kind staff, my appointment to renew my passport happened at the scheduled time and lasted less than 30 minutes. I now have my passport less than two weeks later. Merci
Passport renewal was expeditious, people competent and not only the meeting was almost on time but we got the passport 11 days later without a hitch. Close to miraculous these days…

Once you have an appointment the process to get your passport renewed is very easy and they are very helpful! An advise - make sure to bring a passport photo as requested in the instructions. Unfortunately it is not the same as we use for US passports so make sure to take a measuring ruler or tape with you when having your picture taken. Actually wished they would still do it for you during your appointment as in the past. Merci
I went there to renew my passport and they were so effective. The agent was very useful, she also helped me to renew my french ID. Parking entrance is at the back of building.
