Maybe I should've gotten something else. Nice restaurant. Spring rolls as a side were amazing, but I got a main dish, tofu with veggies over brown rice. Rice was tasteless. Veggies had no taste. And there was so much clear sauce from the veggies and tofu that it made my brown rice completely soggy. This is more like soup now. Where is the seasoning? I don't like it. I was just in the area, and this was the closest place to my pick up, and I feel like I've wasted my money. I am 2 hours away from this place. I really thought I was going to have a great lunch after trying those delicious spring rolls. I couldn't eat it or enjoy it. Where I live, the Asian community knows how to season food correctly. Stop watering your food down to please those with weak taste buds. This just wasn't it. I threw a whole 30 dollars out. Unedible. I wish I could have stopped somewhere else. I want my money back. Smh
One of my favorite places to go to when in the area. The tea rolls are all divine especially the ginger tofu is one of my favorite rolls. Then of course I have to get my bowl of pho soup, so delicious. Another thing I love is the atmosphere, just feels so calm.
This is the best restaurant I’ve been to in a while! Not only was the customer service amazing, they also clean and decorate the tables well. They’re food was the bomb! I would definitely recommend the tea rolls as they’re are many variations, in my personal opinion I would prefer the chicken. This place is so aesthetically pleasing with plants, beautiful furniture, and romantic lighting. Overall I find this place to beyond enjoyable and perfect for a calm day out with your friends! Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegan and gluten-free options for example, pad Thai. Kid-friendliness: A great place to take your kids when you’re in the mood for a healthy and flavorful meal!
I wish we'd read more of the reviews before dining here based on the high star rating. The rice and noodle meals were like a frozen TV dinner type meal and not authentic Asian style dishes. Too many different types of food on the menu maybe if we'd gotten salad or soup it would have been OK but we wouldn't go back to find out. The atmosphere and service was good.
Shitake fried rice with chicken was amazing. Best fried rice of my life. Awesome Thai iced tea. And the taro mochi was a fantastic way to close the meal. Very gluten-free friendly. Would give more stars if i could. Dietary restrictions: Really Gluten free friendly. It's nice to see.
Great spot right on the main road downtown. Great food the Udon is excellent so is the seaweed salad and kimchi. One of the few places that has Lapsang Souchong tea as an option. Great drinks, tons of outdoor seating and the indoor seating is well maintained and separated for safety. Staff was great, friendly and helpful. Overall top marks for service and food.
The food was good. The staff was a mixed experience. The waiter was gruff. The waitress was great. The restroom was garbage. There was no hot water, and the hand dryer blew cold air which was quite unpleasant
Fresh Side in Amherst has to rank at just about the bottom of the barrel in the local cuisine scene. I genuinely wanted to enjoy this experience and look forward to adding this to my local go tos.....but.....nope I'm no yuppy or hipster foodie fanatic but I can generally hold my own when it comes time to measuring bang for the buck, general overall quality, combination of flavors and a places signature. All I can say is... This one misses in EVERY CATEGORY At ~ $8.00 for a cup and a half of "garlic broccoli" the stuff wasn't even cooked and was still just about raw with no evidence of garlic to be found anywhere in the dish At ~ $6.00 the TWO pad thai tea rolls? Left so much to be desired I'll just leave this alone, peanut butter in a plastic cup does NOT equate to a peanut sauce, they couldn't even be bothered to try here. Tea rolls were the size of a golf ball At ~$12.00 for the Beef Pho...the dish overall was so disappointing that I can't say there was anything salvageable here. The beef looked like it got pulled out of yesterday's leftover Arby's beef n cheddar, the noodles were less impressive and there was NOT a single vegetable to be found in the broth, nothing not an herb leaf, not a sliver of onion, not a shred of carrot, a sliver of ginger, anything in the vegetable category could have saved this dish even in a minimal amount. That being said I've had more memorable bowls of noodles from the prepackaged microwave Taste of Asia collection at a fraction of the price. I'd like to say the broth base had a pleasant and memorable quality to it but even that missed. Overall • grossly overpriced hipster Cafe • price point is set to target the captive Amherst College elitist looking for a quaintsy boutiquey lunch or dinner spot • not a repeatable restaurant, frequent diner card member worthy establishment [Thats saying a lot folks because I can't actually recall the last time I actually gave a review under 3 of 5 stars, let alone a bad review]
I will just have to say, their food tastes like garbage frozen food, my suggestion is don’t go, you will regret it. It’s mind blowing to c this restaurant still has a 4.3 rating…Food: 1/5
