We are a group of Volunteers that organize Used Book Sales at the Library & at GC Community Events. Money earned goes to help fund Children & Adult programs, Magazine & Newspaper subscriptions, and Library Furniture.
The Garden City Public Library is a valuable asset to our community. Please consider becoming a Friend.
The Friends of the Garden City Public Library was formed in 1982 to support the development of the Garden City Public Library and its services. To date, the Friends have raised more than $60,000 in support of the library through book sales and fundraisers.
Membership in the Friends of Garden City Public Library is open to all adults who wish to join. One year membership is only $5.00. Of course you can give more. Becoming a Friend allows you to support your local library and give back to your community. Some tasks performed by the Friends include, but are not limited to:
• Sorting donated materials which will be stored for future sales
• Setting up, staffing, and cleaning up the used book sales
• Assisting with special fundraising
• Distributing Friend’s and Library publicity
• Contacting prospective members and encouraging them to become active in the Friends
• Volunteering to work on special projects that enhance the quality of service at the library
If you have just a few hours to spare, we would appreciate your help. We need the support and strength of our neighbors to keep our library alive and thriving!

We also work to promote understanding and appreciation of the library, and seek support through monetary gifts, and gifts of books and other material.

All romance, adult paperback, and children's 4/$1.00
CDs and DVDs $1.00 each
Shelves are updated every week with new donations.
