Beautiful cemetery for Black people dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. The site is in far better condition than 10 years ago, thanks to the hard work of the Friends of Geer Cemetery.  Many tombstones are broken, fallen, or hidden altogether. Please tread with care.  For those interested in African-American gravesites, there are many in North Carolina that are maintained entirely by descendants and volunteers. Some that have municipal support are the Margaret Lane cemetery in Hillsborough and the Louisburg City cemetery.
