Good experience for a small Zoo. We can't expect a zoo to be huge when you're up in the mountains however this one was decent size and animals looked like they were well kept.
Maybe it's because I was there just after lunch time or because it was hot, but we only saw about 5 animals. Allot of the enclosures were empty and full of weeds and tree branches. The animals all looked like they could use a good brush or grooming, their fur was very matted and dirty looking. I understand they are wild animals but I feel that the zoo staff could be better about the well-being and appearance of them. If I go again, I'd go during a cooler time of day. I didn't feel that I got my $15 worth with what I saw. It has a ton of potential, but the grounds and animals could use a little TLC!
Came to Big Bear for vacation, took the kids to the zoo while we were there, the had a blast. Especially when meeting Cowboy the owl
Also a great quick stop! Different animals are always out at different times so sometimes you may not see everyone. They now have a few more of the small bird enclosures open and the "nocturnal" house. Still a few more things to be done but we appreciated the new misters!
Really clean but there’s only 3 bears and have double cage difficult to see to be honest it’s a waist or money, basically this place is not a zoo they’re not many animals
Great local zoo with a variety of exciting animals. We were able to see many bears, wolves, bald eagle, and more!

The Zoo is closed do to constructlon. Least it looks that way. Didn't see any amimals
