The Friends of the Aurora Public Library Book Outlet is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1987. Profits from book and other media sales provide financial support for the Aurora Public Library. Our store is staffed 100% by volunteers.
With over 2,000 square feet of books in over 100 categories as well as CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, audio books, puzzles - we are THE place to buy used media of all kinds. All fiction books are categorized by genre and alphabetized by author. All non-fiction is categorized by topic with clear signage. Each item is individually priced and prices range from 30 cents (yes, you read that correctly) to $4.00. We also have a specialty and gift section. We even have gift certificates available in $5 and $10 increments.
Over the last 25 years, we have provided financial support to the Aurora Public Library for summer reading programs, special writing contests, library special events, author visits and interesting lectures, library facility enhancements and collection development and The Power of One programming.
In addition, we have provided books and other media to many local organizations, including elementary and secondary schools and teachers, correctional facilities, nursing homes and senior centers, homeless shelters, major local hospitals and health care clinics, youth care facilities and community literacy programs.
