Friends of the Hyde Park Miriam Matthew Library

I started to attend this library for study time , for an exam the first week was productive, last week and this week were terrible, i found my self being harassed by staff with dirty looks and watching my every move, as time progressed during my stay i watched as each customer was greeted w a smile and enthusiasm, and left to study in peace, as staff continued to throw trash in bins closet to my table coupled w intimidating looks and body language , as clearly bins are provided near the librarian service desk, my conclusion , I feel very uncomfortable, as a Muslim woman attending this library, I was discriminated against for my religion, its clear the staff here is bias to the Islamic Community , I did vocalize my concerns with the staff and no-one addressed the issue , I'm hoping that someone can speak to staff about sensitivity to diversity on every platform, as we all contribute to ensure this society thrives

Quiet atmosphere. Great community resources. Reading equals knowledge and knowledge is power.

Very spacious with a great collection of literature, great place for studying or some peace

The library has nice books to read
