They called the cops on me for having a meeting in a empty conference room. As we all work from home after the pandemic, I would think management would recognize the influx of adults working at the library here and there. If a meeting room is not occupied or reserved; I think tax paying citizens should be able to utilize the open space. As I was getting a trespassing ticket by the police officer; the manager was smiling at me the whole time. It was pretty awful. I have a perfect record with a US Gov clearance. I hope this doesn't affect it. At the same time, they had a completely different 911 call from a 50yr lady. She was crying because none of the staff would help her. They made her take her meetings at the bathrooms entrance next to the vending machine, and homeless people were harassing her. She was in tears asking for help. How these people are in charge of the library is beyond me. It is clear a change needs to be made with management.
When the fire closed this location me and the kiddos were pretty sad. It was shabby but it was ours, and we got to know the staff in friendly home town kinda way. We went to the satalite location and it was alright, staff really made the best out of the lemons given. And then they reopened the old location. OMG. JUST... OMG. so we took a mess of pics after the shock wore off because just saying there was awesome really doesn't begin to explain. The layout just FLOWS with a snack room with its own bathroom access, a kid section far from study nooks with its own family restroom, multiple meeting rooms available for reservation, a tablet center for the kids, children's computers away from adult computers, a printing station that takes coin bills AND CARDS. The snack room has vending and there's a drive through return that drops into the building so now you can return multimedia after hours. Parking is great and the lot has no holes anymore. They're getting the microfilm in sometime this week if i remember correctly, and the payment system for printing is still a little glitchy but we showed up just a day after opening so im thinking that's probably already fixed. Check out the pics, they don't do the place justice considering how far they've come. Beautiful well organized smallish town library with everything you could need.
So grateful to have the library's support of our community. Whether educating, providing community fun, or exploring new ideas there's always a way to connect and build relationships here. Thank you for making services and opportunities available all year long!
Very friendly employees and a fun atmosphere. Love to hear the kids laugh. Got alot of work finished!! Thank you!!
Always clean and the staff is pleasant. Book selection is a bit limited but they can't have everything.
Went to a really fun book club held there yesterday. The book that was chosen was the kind of book that gave us a lot of discussion. The librarian, Nicole, did such a great job of facilitating our group. Lots of lively and interesting perspectives from the group. Can’t wait til the next one!
Came here from Durant to print something, due to Durant's printer being broken. Susan was incredibly helpful and kind and helped with everything I needed.
Since the remod after the fire there are many updates and refinements. Well worth a visit have you not been there lately.
What a great way to spend a 100°+ Summer day with one of my favorite people, my 6yo grandson! Hadn't been in since before the fire and remodel! Great job, City of Sherman on that for sure! My grandson loved all of the "kids" zones! We checked out books, DVD's, and books on CD. We both really enjoyed our day there. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Going back soon!
Always clean and cool! Had to get a copy made. Thank you
