Very very great place now with new owner! Gunfights are awesome. And the stunt show was so funny! They have a small gift shop at the top, the woman in the gift shop at the top of the mountain named Lillie very sweet! Could use some more items at the top gift shop. She treated us with great hospitality... Not sure if the chairlift will ever be running again, but the older gentleman driving up the mountain was awesome! Very friendly people! Highly recommend We Will be back!
Early in the season, and after ups and downs of ownership and COVID-19, back in business. Was slow in between the gun fights - about every 50 minutes, not a lot to do in between, but the gun fights and the outside entertainment was pretty good. Their entertainment staff are very social with the public and do well for a small establishment. They do have some inside things to do for the kids, sifting sand for gemstones, old time photos, a little browsing for a possible souvenir, etc. I do hope they are able to build this into what it once was, they do have the potential - just patience needed possibly. No longer have the chairlift seats to the top, only via cart or truck by staff, buildings in need of upkeep, additional staffing really needed - which they are working on. Only had three can-can dancers and two were teenage girls.
Glad to see this reopened! My 6 yo loved the magic show just like I did in the 80's! The other shows were great too. Cant wait to see where this goes. They still have a lot of work to do on the smaller buildings and the chair lift but I understand its not easy resurrect an old theme park that has been deserted for years and falling apart. My daughter loved it and got to see live action gun fights too! Where else can you see that these days!
I wouldn’t even give a 1 star but had to to be able to post a review. I totally understand new ownership and just opened in April. But it was a total disappointment for me my husband and our 2 grandsons. I do hope they improve but for me I will never return and waste my money. This is a total rip off and they should be ashamed for taking peoples money.
So Happy to see this Historic place back up and running. The new owners are doing a great job at rebuilding Guntown Mountain. My Family and I went there this passed Saturday the 28th of August. And we had a Blast. Great job to all who had a hand in recreating the Old Wild West Town.
One gift shop with dollar store items. Shop lady was snobby rude. We just missed the one show a day they run and no times posted anywhere. Lady to sell us tickets didn't tell mention anything about times or even how to get up to mountain. We we're picked up by a lady in a jeep that gave us the most terrifying ride of our life! Ps. When a store that sells tickets to anything has a "No Refunds" sign on the doors should be a red flag to just leave.
Kid orientated park is under remodel and they are doing a great job. Very clean friendly staff. Actors did a excellent job and the shows where nearly non stop and very entertaining.
People should know that this place is NOT OPEN. We drove several hours to visit this, only to find it completely abandoned. No one here knows anything about it. The website and Facebook page says they are currently open. They are NOT.
We came here on a weekend trip it was my wife's birthday weekend. We really enjoyed this place she got to relive some childhood memories while it was my first time there. We had a blast. I especially liked the stunt show it was my favorite. We will definitely be coming back for a visit.
We took our 5 grandchildren here yesterday. To say it was an adventure was an understatement. We had our 2 Grandsons and 3 Granddaughters. We went up so they could watch the gunfight. We knew the boys would love it. The girls, well one of them wanted to go to Unicorn World. No, there is no such thing, but she is 4. While waiting for the show they had a nerd fight, road motorized animals, just hung out and enjoyed the time. They announced the show would be starting in 10 minutes so we went and got a seat. The seats got filled so the kids sat on the edge of the sidewalk with us directly behind them. The show started and the the gunfire. Our oldest granddaughter 6 almost 7 turned around and was squalling she was terrified. Then the 4 year old turned around screaming: I want to go home. Within seconds the 5 year old was crying. I gathered them up and took them in the saloon. Now their fathers and Grandfather all hunt and shoot guns. I don't know if they were just tired, but no amount of telling them it was fake was working. A nice gentleman that works there gave them each a ring pop. My husband and the boys came in when it was over and the boys loved it. I got a play by play. They all got ice cream sat around a table and smiled and laughed. My youngest grandson wanted his picture made with a cowboy so we went and found the particular one he liked. Myself, him, and the granddaughter that had the biggest come apart went to get the picture. The particular cowboy was gracious and went and got his hat and gun. Well when she saw the gun she fell apart again. My Grandson however loved that he got to hold it and get his picture made. He kept saying to her: It is fake. We went back in the Saloon and the band started. They were wonderful. The kids eating ice cream dancing and then a man dressed in a bear costume came in. The kids thought that was great. He came to the table and danced with them. Then took the granddaughter that had been so upset up front to dance. Her face was still red from crying, but she started smiling and really enjoyed it. I told my husband the bear is the cowboy she was so frightened of and my Grandson said: Yes, it is he has the same bandana. After the dance we went outside and the bear came out. He took his head off so she could see. I was so happy that he went to this length to show her that he just played parts. It is all just a show. That he is just a good man being an actor. Everyone here was great. Yes, I could have fled with the girls, but they wouldn't have learned a thing and they were all very happy when we left. My husband went here when he was a child and was glad he got to share it with his grandchildren. It was closed for many years and the new owners are trying to bring it back to glory. We will be back, I would like to see the gunfight. Lol The band was great, the singer really good. Nice place to sit and relax and listen to some good music on a hot day. The views are to die for also. By the way there were several small children there that really enjoyed the show. I think my granddaughter was just overly tired and once she started the other 2 joined in. Any other day they would have been fine. Everyone that worked there did their absolute best to make them comfortable.
