Furlow Charter School was approved by the local BOE and has been approved by the State.
FCS opened in August 2015 and serves Sumter County students in grades K-9. FCS will add a grade each year through grade 12. FCS will use a project based approach to learning and will incorporate Spanish instruction for grades, service learning, and fine arts into its curriculum.
The local BOE recently voted to place FCS in the former Sarah Cobb Elementary School building.
All scholars at FCS receive free breakfast and lunch.
The Boys and Girls Club provides before school (drop off as early as 7:00 a.m.) and after school programs (pick up as late as 6:30 p.m.) at the FCS for only $10 per week per scholar.
The FCS Governing Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at Furlow Charter School.
Applications for students are accepted Jan. 1 - Feb. 14. Applications can be printed from our website or picked up at the Furlow Charter School main office at 63 Valley Drive. Information on submitting the applications is included in the application packet.
If any grade has more applications than available seats, a random lottery will be held for that grade. At the lottery, each seat will be filled and a wait list will be populated.
