South Georgia Technical College's main campus is located in Sumter County, six miles northeast of Americus. The college is 135 miles south of Atlanta, between Highways 19 and 49 on South Georgia Tech Parkway. It has a satellite campus in Cordele.
South Georgia Technical College is one of only two technical colleges in Georgia with on-campus housing and a full service cafeteria. The college offers over 90 different associate degree, diploma and short-term technical certificate of credit educational opportunities. The college has approximately 4400 students enrolled and offers intercollegiate athletics, student clubs and organizations, and career and financial aid services. It also has a 98% job placement rate and offers lifetime career placement services for graduates.
As a member of the Technical College System of Georgia and a residential institution of higher education, it is the mission of South Georgia Technical College to prepare individuals for success in the workforce by providing accessible, high-quality associate of applied science degrees, diplomas, technical certificates of credit, and non-credit programs and services that support the needs of citizens, businesses, and industries within our service delivery area in Southwest Georgia.
