I was excited to visit for the nostalgia since I thought the chain had long ago gone out of business. Unfortunately, the entire store smelled like raw sewage and we had to leave. We watched multiple groups of people walk in and back out immediately, holding their noses, gagging, and commenting on the stink. No surprise that all but one employee was still masked. I don't think it's because they're worried about Covid.
The staff at FYE are absolutely the nicest and helpful. I feel bad for them, because directly above them is some sort of issue at the 110 Grille and the smell of dumpster has made its way from their restaurant into their store below. I really hope the mall fixes this.
Please DO NOT sign up for their FYE rewards. They tell you it's free but didn't tell me only for 30 days read the pamphlet. It was a whole ordeal just for customer service to cancel it for me. They would bring down the price and tell me they'll kept my membership active to "think about it". No, I don't want a membership. Took over 4 times to tell the agent to cancel it. Please DO NOT sign up for their rewards and I'm real disappointed in the young lady who told us this was free. I've only been to FYE once in 4 yrs. I highly doubt I need a membership.
I remember when FYE opened in the Holyoke Mall, it must have been 23 or 24 years ago. There used to be two locations in the same mall. They condensed down to one, which was smart, considering they both had the same type of merchandise. With CDs becoming more and more digital, the store is expanding to take on more fun, little movie knick knacks and props, plushies, and novelty items. However, you can still get your concert tickets here, which is cool. They do still have a good selection of CDs and an amazing selection of DVDs/ Blu-ray. My only complaint about this store is their price. They're used merchandise is very fair, and on occasion they do have a good sale on new merchandise, but for the most part, a lot of what they have is cheaper on Amazon as far as new movies go. That being said, it's really nice to have a shop that you can go into and pick stuff up the same day, or just look around. The staff is usually pretty helpful as well. The fact that they buy pre-owned DVDs and CDs means that sometimes they don't have everything out for sale right away. If you ask them to check into something for you, they are able to look in their system if they may have it in the back or if they can special order it. Sometimes, you can find a pretty rare DVD or Blu-ray. With the way stores are going under and disappearing, I hope that these guys stick around.
Great place to find anything you need of music, DVDS, CDs, blue Ray. Action figures, anime stuff, DC comics toys, Marvel universe toys. Love it!

I love F.Y.E. They actually had some pretty good deals on DVDs!! Their staff was very warm and inviting to me!! And greeted me with a smile!! They keep a neat and organized store!! I just wish they would keep all the Comic Book Superhero movies all in one rack and label it Superhero Movies!! That and I wish they had All Of The Super Sentai DVDs from Japan; which would have been Great!! Other than that they are a company!!
I would give it 5 stars if their new kpop merch wasn't so over priced. Getting the albums online is still cheaper. Other then that they have albums that are still new in Korea and the have Jpop versions of kpop and jpop albums from Japanese idols.
Cool store to poke around in. My son loves going here with the pop figures movies and music. There is something for everyone here! Located just inside the Holyoke Mall from J.C.PENNEY on 1st floor.
Super great staff and decent selection. Prices a little higher than I'd like but not crazy. Good place to find some fun used movies too.
