Meet The Team:
Management

Dave Kramer, President

Dave worked as a carpet installer apprentice in 1976 and was hired as a sales person for Warehouse Carpet Sales in 1978 where he worked for the next 10 years. In 1989 he became an employee and co- owner of Abbey Decorating Center; in 1999 become Vice President and in 2008 became President. Dave works with several builder accounts as well as retail sales. He works hard to provide customers with the best product at a fair price.

Kirk Johnson, Vice President

Kirk worked as a store manager of GCO stores for 6 years before coming to Abbey Decorating Center in 1999 as store manager. In 2008 Kirk became co-owner/Vice-President. Kirk oversees staff and sales in both the Apple Valley and Bloomington locations. He also works with customers in both commercial and retail sales and does most of the measuring for the Apple Valley location.

Shane Judge, Vice President

Shane has been with Abbey Decorating Center for 16 years. He started part-time in the warehouse as a teenager and through hard work and dedication and is now a co-owner. He now is Vice-President of Operations for the warehouse staff as well as installers; plus schedules and oversees all installations and service work

Tim Ruzek, Operations Manager, Bloomington

Tim has 28 years of experience in floorcoverings 21 years of that, installing commercial and residential products. He has worked on a variety of projects from large projects including the Mall of America to a small home bathroom. He is highly versed in all types of flooring as well as specialties including heat welding and coving. He is also knowledgeable about substrates, asbestos and moisture mitigation.

Jody Cook, Office Manager

Jody has 28-years of administrative experience working in both the non-profit as well as the for-profit business sectors. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Throughout her career her focus has been managing and supporting small business. At Galaxie Floor Stores she is responsible for administrative, accounting and managing daily office operations, as well as special projects as assigned.

Design/Sales - Apple Valley Store

Jane Sjogren

has 16 years of design experience and has been with Abbey Decorating Center for 7 years. She has an Associate’s Degree in Interior Design from Dakota County Technical College. Jane specializes in flooring, countertops and tile for residential remodels and is able to help customers coordinate new products seamlessly into their existing space.

Alethea Simpson

has a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Minnesota State University. She has been at Apple Valley store for 10 years and specializes in residential remodel and new home construction. She has a keen eye for giving each new construction home a stylish and unique look.

Lynne Smith

is a talented designer with over 25 years of experience—12 of those at Galaxie Floor Stores. She has developed the trust of many customers and home builders. Whether remodel or new construction; she will guide you in creating your home’s color palette and guide your selection of flooring for each room, as well as countertops, paint colors, and window treatments.

Brenda Peterson

comes to Galaxie Floor Stores with 19 years of experience in cabinets, countertops, flooring and window coverings. She is an award-winning kitchen designer who works with each customer to design a kitchen that is both functional and beautiful.

Design/Sales - Bloomington Store

Kelly Fahey

has 27 years of flooring experience in the Bloomington and surrounding area and during that time has developed many trusted long-term business relationships. He specializes in both contractors and residential customers.

Leah Olson

brings 14 years of design/sales experience to the Bloomington store helping customers coordinate flooring, countertops, cabinets, paint and exterior choices for new construction and existing residential homes.

Casondra Peters

has a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from The Art Institutes International Minnesota. Bringing 13 years of retail design/sales to the Bloomington store including paint, window coverings, flooring, cabinets, and countertops.

Denise Matthews

brings 7 years of design/sales to the Bloomington location with expertise in flooring and countertops.

Office Staff
Marie Wegner

has worked in the flooring industry for 12 years. She provides dependable conscientious administrative and bookkeeping help in the Bloomington store. She looks forward to continued growth within the company.

Warehouse

Chad Shaw

is a dedicated hard-working employee who has 8 years of warehouse experience. He coordinates all vendor deliveries to our Apple Valley warehouse and prepares jobs from both locations for installation.

Cliff Emery (Service/Vinyl Installer)

has been installing vinyl floors for 39 years and has been installing floors for the Apple Valley store for most of that time. As of early 2012 Cliff was hired as a permanent employee to do service work, measuring, repairs as well as installs. His gentle manner and years of experience and knowledge have proven to be a great addition to Galaxie Floors.
