Epic customer service with a stylish layout. The arcade style set up in the middle of the store is great for some fun head to head action. Decent prices and an awesome selection of games and systems. I'll definitely be back!
The service from the staff is second to none. We aren't serious role playing gamers or anything, but we really enjoy party games. The employee Andrew? took the time to provide his HUGE expertise in the games we wondered about to understand what we were getting in to it before hand. We will be back here to buy any game we want rather than buy it online or at a big box.
Weird at best. Cool they sell used games. Shop is confusing. It doesn't say it is a used get store anywhere. No staff will ever offer to help you. The only employee will be on their phone the whole time. Feels like a rich kids hobby project. Still, I loved seeing a 32x in person for the first time in 2 decades.
I love this little shop in Rosedale mall. Every time I have stopped in, the service has been outstanding. They will track down any game you need, or they will go as far as they can to find it for you. They specialize in older generation gaming systems, and have several on display. They do buy and sell games and gaming systems, and are a fabulous resource for all gaming needs, especially for the older systems. Highly recommend.
2.5 Pros: Great friendly staffs, variety of old game consoles, it's like a muesuem of gaming, knowledgeable staffs, fun place to tour and be in. Popular games can be price matched, if able. Cons: Return/ exchange policy is outdated. 7-day In-store credit only, no monetary refunds, which is reasonable for small gaming business. The biggest problem is that for in-store credit, there is an unavailable store credit receipt or gift card for it or something that is hard copy proof for your store credit. It is "stored in the cloud". Also, Upsells game contollers and items; pricey items. Your best bet is to buy online or do research before buying here. Not a variety selection of current and updated games. Lacks quantity.
I must admit this is not a complete review as I have not seen how much credit they give for your used products or looked over their prices with much scrutiny. That can certainly change a star or two. But as far as the store itself is concerned, it is great. The moment you walk in you just feel like this is a gaming store of old, that's all about having fun and the genius enjoyment of gaming culture. The store deals with very retro games and modern ones too. It's remencient of the old Funcolands that used to be around when many of us were kids. They have several gaming related products too that are just cool to look at or take home. I was really impressed. Another huge reason why the place just feels so positive is because of the guy behind the counter. He is a real deal gamer and not someone who only enjoys the modern call of duty games and what not, he goes back, way back. Its very refreshing to see a mature game who gets it, who knows that games are about having fun and knows the joy that comes along with sharing those experiences with others. All in all, the store is a breath of fresh air and I will certainly be back.
My son bought a used game from here and they do not test their games before selling them. When asked to test their games before they sell them, they said they didn't have enough money to keep each console at the store to test each game. So they admit that they will sell you a game that they have no idea if it works. I understand a store credit policy if a game isn't what you expected, but if you sell people broken games, give them their money back. Do not buy friom here. They are scam artists with zero empathy for other peoples' hard earned money.-- Edited 12/4: They refunded my sons money in full. Thank you, you did the right thing.
Great selection, knowledgeable staff, management is great! We do not have enough of these store around any more give games n go all the support you can! Such a fun environment!
I really enjoy this place, there's this really cute guy name Nicholas, very helpful and overall a great manger! Gave me one hell of a deal on a Wii.... all the other workers seem very nice and seem to know a lot about the video games!! Would recommend to buy games here!!
A lot of used game places are run by either kids who don't know how to interact with customers or lazy dudes who don't care about customers. I went in to buy pokemon to relive my youth and the guy at the counter was great. He was helpful, kind and as I was leaving, he shouted after me because he realized he had a different version which he hadn't put out yet, in case I wanted that one instead. I felt genuinely taken care of and happy with the service. Another note, everything was VERY clean. It makes a difference when another person's Doritos fingerprints aren't all over everything. This will for sure be my retro-game store for a long time.
