Gardner-White Furniture

John H. helped my Fiancée and I pick out a great mattress. He was a pleasure to work with. Although I believe they work on commission, he made the shopping experience incredibly low pressure and was respectful our budget. It felt more like shopping with a friend rather than a salesperson. This is the kind of experience I want and expect while shopping at a big-box store, and the kind of experience that ensures I’ll come back when it’s time for my next big furniture purchase. The store has a huge selection of not only mattresses but furniture as well. Their Labor Day sale seemed to have some pretty good deals on most everything in the store. Delivery took place the very next morning and the drivers were very polite and considerate.

Not so happy. Furniture was delivered but was told doorstep delivery. That means they drop it at your door step. I had no idea when I bought it online. Every time I bought from Art Van. They always put where you wanted it no delivery fees. But door step is free. Great now what do I do with 2 big couches on my porch???? So was able to get a hold of sales person 2 1/2 hours later when they opened. Told the salesperson through text that I wanted to have couches moved last Wednesday. He said for them to put furniture in your house and move furniture and extra $250 for today. Now it has to sit outside till 4pm great. Next time I go furniture shopping I will ask more questions. Not as easy as it used to be years ago. With Covid this is how they deliver.

We went in just to look around and get an idea of what we wanted, but when we found out they had same day delivery AND the furniture we wanted was in stock we decided to go for it. Over a year ago we had gone to a different furniture store to look for couches as ours were falling apart and pretty much unusable. When we found what we wanted they had told us it was stock and could be delivered in a few weeks as delivery was backed up due to covid which turned into a year. So in summary we were pretty cautious and the salesperson assured us it would be same day. When the delivery drivers arrived they were very polite and awesome enough to take their shoes off every single time they came in even when they had to continuously go in and out to grab more pieces. They assembled everything quick while we played video games. Usually I feel awkward with people in my house, but they multi tasked and spoke like we would to a friend about their interests in games. New update 5/30/23- My above review is from the new year, but I just went back in and was looking for just a bedroom chest/dresser as I needed more space vs my bulky one. Ended up getting the whole set AND a new living room coffee and end tables. I almost forgot we got outdoor furniture as well. The sales lady was helpful and so was her backup sales person. I was working with Muna, but I will say that Abe was AMAZING. He only stepped in at the beginning when she had a previous client come in and he helped me figure out the best dresser for me and I could tell he wasn't in it for the commission as he didn't talk negatively on the clearance/cheaper side like some of the salespeople I had overheard when walking by. Instead he told me which would be the best and gave actual reason and logic. Delivery only took 3 days for the main part we came in for, but unfortunately the rest of the bedroom set is on back order until mid June/July so I'll update then as well. The delivery guys were very nice and efficient, let me double check all the furniture before leaving/signing off for it and answered some questions for me.

Purchased a lovely recliner from Gardner White Furniture on Hall Road in Michigan. The chair, sales representative and delivery folks were all wonderful. Two days later, after delivery and after testing the chair, I determined that the chair was not the right fit for me and proceeded to make arrangements for its return. I returned to the store and made arrangements with the Manager for the return. FYI I also paid for white glove delivery and a 4 year warranty. This is when the fun began. I understand the 25% re-stocking fee I think that’s extremely high, but ok and I understand the delivery fee…these amounts will not be refunded. BUT, I was told the 4 year warranty will be refunded in four years. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. After all is said and done I will be paying $548.72 to return a chair that was $1119.99. How is this a good business practice? I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Wonderful place and staff. Very pleased being greeted at the door and have an associate Abe introduce himself then gave us space to look around. When asked questions Abe was very attentive and accommodating. Wonderful experience apartment furniture shopping. :

I went in looking for a bed and some assorted living room furniture, and not much more of a notion of what I wanted beyond that. The staff was easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable, and the rep I worked with, Lucas, was able to match me with a chair and loveseat that I'm very satisfied with, as well as a bed set with an affordable but comfortable mattress. They've also been running quite a few sales of late, based on the catalogs they've been mailing out in my area, so they may be a good option if you're looking for a deal. The delivery crew I got was also quick, professional, and friendly. Overall, I'm very happy with my first Gardner-White experience, and I'll definitely be shopping with them again in the future.

A pretty nice furniture store in the Auburn Hills area. They have nice customer service and will deliver or load stuff for you depending on what you pick out. The furniture is fairly expensive but it's typically of decent quality.

Matt was my salesperson a very patient, well dressed person. Matt paid attention to detail while keeping my budget in mind. I never once felt pressured...this was my first time shopping at Gardener White. I use to shop @ Art Van all the time. This will not be my last time shopping @ that store . And, asking for Matt only!! I purchased this entire set for my baby brother.

After too many years decided it was FINALLY TIME to purchase a new mattress. We arrived at GW at 8pm and began our search with Zack. He was kind and informative…of course they immediately took us to the $5000+ mattresses. Then we got REAL about price and honed in on a couple within our actual price range. So happy with Shannon, the Bedding Expert, who guided us through the process, educated us on what to think about and look for with all the latest technology in mattresses, and stayed late to close the deal. We got 0% financing and next day delivery. As a matter of fact, the mattress was delivered by 9am … less than 12 hours after we purchased. And lets talk delivery!! WOW! These guys were so courteous and professional. A big purchase and a VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER!!

This was my first time shopping at this location of Gardner-White, I had always preferred Art Van when it was in existence. However, this store was just like the Art Van I remember. A large variety of very nice furniture of all types. I recommend a stroll through it. If you decide to purchase anything, just be prepared for a bit of a process. The salesperson part, the ordering part, the warranty part, then to the desk for purchase, they check ID and credit card, then if you pick up, they check ID again. All great for security purposes, but if it's a small purchase, like something you could get at home goods, it starts to feel a bit taxing.
