Garen McClure grew up in Casar, North Carolina & earned his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill & his J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law. After practicing in New York City for over 4 yrs, Garen returned home to build his practice in Hillsborough.
Garen utilizes his experience as a former New York City legal services staff attorney in assisting his clients to achieve their goals with respect to their litigation matters. His practice focuses on traffic & minor criminal, immigration, & personal injury. Garen has very broad litigation skills & the ability to work closely with his clients to ensure their involvement, providing very personal & responsive service. As a publicly educated attorney, Garen never strayed too far from his rural upbringing, using his skills as an attorney for the greater good.
Before establishing his own practice in Hillsborough, Mr. McClure served as a senior staff attorney with with MFY Legal Services, Inc. (MFY) in New York City. In this capacity, Garen represented low-income clients with a particular focus on fair & affordable housing in a fast-paced, high case volume environment. In over 5 years as a civil litigator, Mr. McClure made multiple weekly appearances while controlling all aspects of litigation. Since returning home to North Carolina, Garen worked as an associate in a small firm, where he handled a variety of litigation matters, including contract disputes, personal injury, employment and traffic.
Garen honed his ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment, to negotiate settlements, & navigate complex litigation. He successfully briefed & argued a substantive due process case before the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department. Garen lives in Hillsborough with his wife and two young children & when he is not advocating for his clients, he loves spending time with his family & getting outdoors & enjoying nature.
