Garland Lodge & Resort
4700 North Red Oak Road
Lewiston, MI 49756

This secluded “Pure Michigan” resort, located east of Gaylord and I-75, features more than 180 guest rooms in the romantic main log lodge, the French country villas and golf cottages. A lodge-themed dining room, a sports bar and grill, and an expansive outdoor patio bar with a stone fireplace overlooking a huge putting green add to the getaway ambiance.

Located in the heart of America's Summer Golf Capital, Garland's four championship golf courses play from one pro shop connected to the lodge. The 72 holes meander around lakes and streams and through wildlife-rich forests and challenging elevation changes.

The resort also offers 8,500 square feet of conference space in a variety of settings for weddings and receptions, family reunions, banquets, meetings or special events. On-site event and wedding specialists can help plan any occasion. New and upgraded A/V equipment was installed in the conference center this summer.

Food-allergy menu items available upon request.

Hiking and biking trails start on the resort’s 3,000 acres and connect with neighboring local and state forests trails.

Tennis and basketball courts, an outdoor swimming pool and indoor fitness center with lap pool are open for guests and members. Additional recreational activities, such as canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, guided tours and more, are available for booking through the resort.

We had our wedding at Garland this fall. I cannot even say enough about the staff! Everyone was amazing. Sarah our wedding director was absolutely the most helpful every step of the way. Our guests loved the rooms, the service, the grounds and the food. I will have future events here and cannot wait to visit again. What beautiful memories we will cherish forever at this wonderful resort. Thank you Garland.
The accommodations were outstanding. The food and service were great. Poor internet and cell service. The golf courses were very well maintained, with the exception of the bunkers. I don't think they have ever been raked. A lot of stones, tarps coming up and weeds growing in there. Otherwise it's a great resort.
Absolutely love Garland! 2nd year coming up Others for many more years. 4 excellent courses on property. Pretty good food. Friendly staff. The cabins we stay in are great, but could use a little TLC. Can't wait to go back next year!Rooms: 4/5
Attended a wedding and reception here this weekend. The hospitality was amazing. T.Roach went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. Food was great and the wait staff and bartenders were friendly and efficient. Especially Jessica that was working the bar inside the reception.Rooms: 5/5
The courses are great. However did not have the best experience. We were approached by the ranger with a lot odd negativity that we were 3 holes behind but it was at least 30 minutes before the group behind us got done after we finished. We booked cottages for 20 people but some of our friends they put in cottages literally a mile away. Overall we spent 14 thousand dollars On the trip and I feel that we didn't get the treatment or value we deserved or would get from some other resort.
The golf courses were all amazing - wildly exceeded my expectations. The villas were spacious, but a little bit outdated however it is not much of an issue as we were mainly going there just to play golf. The only complaint is the restaurant. To be honest, it was almost not edible. I hate to say that because everything else was so awesome.
This was a tough one for me to rate because the corse was absolutely perfect but everything else was lacking. If I was just going for golf 100% worth it and we had an amazing time on the corse. Where they feel short was on the resort side. I really don't think it should be called a resort. The buildings are gorgeous but the insides of the rooms are wildly outdated and for the price we payed for the weekend I was very disappointed. Then there's the included breakfast. The breakfast was on par with a run down shady motel. Highly disappointed in the amenities as well mainly cause for a "resort" I feel like there should be more. It was sad the hot tub was down but things break and that's understandable. The service was great and all the staff we met was outstanding and super friendly. I would go again maybe but just for golf for sure. Nearby activities: 100% check out talleys bar! Cheep beer and drinks. Pritty good food to for the location. Walkability: Very long corse. Posable for someone in shape. just not for me to walk Wi-fi: Very bad wifi even though they advertise high speed wifi Food & drinks: Very expensive. Talking 30 bucks to get a buzz. 5 dollar cans and food is meh. Expensive for what you get
Very poor service at Restaurant that ruined the stay. Took 1.5 hours to get our meal. Other tables were given presidence over our table of 20. It appeared that who ever manged the orders of who got served was seving some group they were friendly with. The food that was eventually served was good and the waitress was friendly. I would not recommend this place to anyone one.
Played The Fountains today and had a great time. The course was in great shape even after a night of rain. The bunker sand was a bit wet and compact but I played out of the few I found without a problem. We played on pace and only had to wait at one tee box. I like the layout and the 6 par 5’ and 3’s. You can score well if you find the fairways off the tee box and use some restraint when called for on approach shots. Make sure you evaluate the greens before hitting that approach. There are some tiered greens and plenty of opportunities to leave yourself with big breakers. I’ll be back to play the other courses.
We stayed in a villa which was fantastic and played 2 of the courses which were scenic and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this course for a fabulous golfing experience .Rooms: 5/5
