Came here to get fit into a better shoe so that I could be more comfortable being on my feet all day at work. Told the employees that I have wide feet so I usually go a size up but was told that the shoe they were putting me in would work just fine and if not I could always come back and exchange them. So knowing this I went and tried them for a couple days and they were definitely too small/narrow, so after three days of trying them out I went to try and exchange them. I understand they weren’t in the perfect condition that they were in when I bought them but they were literally only used indoors for like 3 days of work and they said that I couldn’t exchange them since they were too used. I was fit into the wrong shoe…it’s not my fault that I kept trying them out since I was told it was the right shoe for me. The worker also told me that I couldn’t exchange them BUT she would help me get new ones. Yeah no thank you. Normally I’m not one to let this bother me and write a review, but I spent $200 on something that I was fit into by an employee and then turned away from them giving me the right pair. If your shoes look like mine unfortunately they are too used to exchange …
We have literally been shopping here for decades. This wonderful locally owned shop does an amazing job of finding the perfect fit and shoe for everybody. They literally have this down to a science between technology and years of professional experience working in the store. Thank you for taking care of us as far back as high school not saying how long that is and now our children as well. See you soon.
Been going to Gary’s for 20 years. Suddenly they don’t seem to have knowledgeable staff, treadmill for assessing stride is gone and customer service is gone. I bought new shoes a few weeks ago. Only ran on a treadmill but found that the treads were peeling off on both shoes from the middle. Same failure on both shoes so they are clearly defective. I went in and other than to offer to glue them the manager made clear they won’t be offering any help. After at least 100 pairs of shoes there I will be going somewhere else. Don’t understand how a store can want to charge a premium price but offer zero customer service.
I used to come here 10 years ago for shoes and always had a great experience. Today we headed in because my wife was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and told to head to a running shoe store for inserts. Upon arrival, we were told "hello", but were not offered or asked if we needed help as we stood there for what felt like 5-10 minutes. Finally, one of the associates came up and began helping. I thought we were on the right track, but after explaining our needs we were told "I'm with a customer, hold on" and went to help the gentleman he was previously assisting. Normally I wouldn't mind this, but... Am I not also a customer? After helping the other gentleman, the associate did return but did not seem to care to listen to our concerns and just kept telling us to try them until we found the one she liked. At this point the associate walked away and left us on our own. We then decided to leave and will be visiting an alternate option tomorrow.
About three years ago I bought a couple pair of Hoka Clifton’s in a wide at Garry Gribbles I had planters fascia the time and the shoes totally solved my problems. I rotated those for about two years which they held up well because I’m not a runner. About a year ago I bought a third pair & I was fitted by a gentleman who told me I did not need a wide and sold me a pair of the standard width because wide we’re not in stock. I kept these in the closet for about a year finally pulled them out and started wearing them and found a wide is what I really need. My wife has a couple pair of hokas & I stopped by the store to get her some new insoles; this being the first day I actually wore my new hokas I mention to the sales lady about my fitting and the ones that were sold to me are too narrow, especially in the toe-box. She made the remarks “you can tell by looking they were too narrow”. I wore these for one day, and she shrugged her shoulders, and told me definitely the wide is what I needed. I think next time I’ll find another store that will properly fit me and stand behind a customer when they were improperly fit by a salesman who deliberately just wanted to make a sale.
I'm pretty disappointed with this place. I'll start off with the good thing, the people that I worked with were friendly enough and had pretty quick service. However, I came to this place specifically because online it says they have some high-tech ways of looking at your feet to recommend the best shoe for you. I did not get that service. They measured my foot looked at my Arch for .2 seconds and recommended some shoes. I picked the pair that felt the most comfortable and was on my way. When I got home, I tried really really hard to like the shoes, but when I run they are physically painful. After two times of trying to work out in them and having to cut it short I decided to bring them back. UNFORTUNATELY I lost my receipt in the process. I did pay for these on a card so I brought them in anyway. Apparently, there is no option to exchange without a receipt because unless you sign up to be in their system they do not track your purchases. IF I HAD KNOWN THIS I WOULD HAVE SIGNED UP. Now I'm out $140 for a pair of shoes that I cannot wear. So moral of the story, if you're a chronic receipt loser like me then sign up to be a member. Or if you're looking for a place that does some high-tech foot stuff, this is not it.
Awesome customer service! They do a custom analysis of your foot and I've run just over 500 miles on the shoe they recommended for me. 3 times in a row . It was such a good fit for me that I just keep buying the same one after I run a pair into the ground. Literally.
Great service and great recommendation for shoes. Led me to a great trail to run in the area since I am from out of town. Recommended some Hoka Speedgoat 4s for trail running. Put 8.5 miles on them out the box and they were great. Highly recommend.
You'll spend a lot more money than you'll expect I spent 189 for a pair of shoes and three pairs of socks!, but the quality is top notch. You'll have your feet scanned and matched to a few pairs of shoes to compare. The person who helped me was extremely nice and went on a huge infodump I really loved. Turns out I was wearing my shoes wrong my whole life! I'll definitely come back when these pairs wear down.
Legendary KC running store. You know the deal - from clothes to shoes and nutrition, they have it all. I was really jazzed to see the number of running hats and brands they have available. Kudos.
