Such a great little hidden gem. One of the best burgers, and milkshakes I've had. Sherry, the owner was very pleasant and welcoming. A MUST try if you're in the mood for a burger. Highly recommendFood: 5/5
Visited with my family during Owensboro burger week. Fantastic little joint with a ton of food options. We had burgers, cheese curds, fries, fries pickles, and a giant cup of ice cream. All of it was delicious. Definitely worth checking out.Food: 5/5
Food was great and all made to order. We went through the drive through and the employee taking/giving us our order was very nice and helpful. Highly recommendFood: 5/5
Great place! The food here is WAY better than what is currently served at the over-rated Big Dipper, beating them in taste, value and appearance. Their menu is classic; not too large and nothing too far outside the realm of 50's diner food. It contains little touches of uncommonly featured fare, however, like the fried green tomatoes and cheesy stuffed tots, which adds a little something extra for your tastebuds to crave. Since this little spot is apparently the 'boro's best kept secret, you will never have to wait 45 minutes while you crawl through a mile long line of cars in order to eat dinner. Their prices aren't uber expensive either, and they offer daily plate lunch specials every weekday. Both the interior and exterior dining areas are kept immaculately clean, you get a full view of the kitchen also super clean and organized while your food is being prepared so you can be sure everything is done in the safest manner possible. Every member of their small staff I have met has been sincerely friendly and all were super attentive to us, even while dining outside, offering refills and delivering our food as soon as it was ready. Considering this is not labeled a full service restaurant, the employees all go above and beyond to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable. Lastly, it is conveniently located in the center of Owensboro on Veach Road, about a mile from Legion Park. 5 star establishment all the way!! Vegetarian options: Their menu has quite a few veggie only options. Kid-friendliness: Mild, unoffensive decor; kid sized meals; friendly employees Parking: Parking is not a problem as their lit is quite large and easy to maneuver around. Wheelchair accessibility: Table seating options; no stairs to climb.
Every since the pandemic I’ve been work from home, out of Henderson. One of the things that I miss is Gary’s driving over in Owensboro. I know it’s not that far, but when you work there it’s a lot easier to go there. Gary’s has one of the best burgers in Owensboro. Just be prepared you will wait a little while while they prepare your food but when it comes out it is hot! So don’t get all upset about the time it takes. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes which were cooked perfectly and had just a Lotta flavor. Cheese sticks I mean who messes up cheese sticks. Well some people do and you know that’s true! But Gary’s did not. But the burgers! That’s where it’s at. They have inside and outside dining, and also a drive-through if that’s what you want. If you’re looking for a really good drive-in food experience, and Gary’s is the place to go.
I tried their pork fritter. Sorry but the old large diameter pork tenderloin was much better, this pork fritter tasted almost freezer burnt or just had an odd tasting breading, not sure but I won't order it again. The deep fried mushrooms were ok but weren't very hot.Food: 3/5
I had a to go order. They forgot my sweet potatoes fries no cheese on my burgers then I called and said I had 6 onion rings she said she give me nine. I asked her if she's calling me a liar and the other girl said we didn't have to buy sweet potatoes because I already paid for them. Duh my friends hamburger was cold by the times comes back. Maybe if she wasn't counting my onion rings more attention to my other food. I normally eat their once a week I love your food. No I'm sorry either.
I love the Food at Gary's and the employees are always so nice and it has a wonderful atmosphere. A wide variety of food also. I highly recommend this diner. Vegetarian options: They gave veggie burgers. Parking: It's not a large parking lot, but I have never had trouble parking.
Awesome burger and sweet potato fries and friendly workers. Will definitely recommend it to friends as we’re here, all the way from Marquette, IA for GeoWoodstock.
Great food, surprising menu variety. Friendly service. Small facility, but always a great experience.Food: 5/5
