Gateaux Bakery is a Gourmet French Patisserie and Sandwich Shop
JoAnne, the owner, has been baking for the past 15 years. Prior to Gateaux, she owned and operated a wedding cake design studio in Greensboro, North Carolina. Since relocating to Hampton Roads, JoAnne's passion for baking led her to open a retail storefront on Pleasure House Road in Virginia Beach.
During your visit, don't be surprised if JoAnne comes out of the kitchen to greet you personally with a sample of the new products constantly being developed behind the scenes.
Our bakers are graduates from accredited culinary schools across the country including Johnson and Wales, Chicago Institute of French Pastry and the Culinary Institute of Virginia. Each one has contributed their experience and skills enhancing the diversity of our menu.
We specialize in fine cakes, superior pastries, tortes, sweet table displays and baked goods. Baked from scratch daily in our on-site kitchen, our gourmet products are made from natural ingredients including fresh fruits & purees, European butter, and the finest chocolates. Our products are guaranteed to make your special event delicious.
We do not carry cakes, cupcakes, or pies in store unless otherwise stated but rather make them to order and we need at least forty eight hours notice before hand. We do this to ensure that our costumers only receive the best quality. That being said we always have superior pastries and desserts in stock.
