I was previously a patient at this office for years. I made it to my appointments on time, I tried some adhd meds, and I paid my bills. I've always questioned the hiring practices here. On multiple occasions, I was stopped after appointments by staff that wholeheartedly tried to convince me of the craziest, anti-vax conspiracy theories that I've ever heard in my life. A person practicing medicine and psychiatric care in this office actually tried telling me Obama was behind a secret, worldwide plan to eradicate a large majority of Earth's population through vaccines. Today's interaction wasn't better. It'd be nice to find a treatment with a chance of improving my life, so I called to learn more about restarting my appointments. After all, they should have some of my history. The woman on the phone sounded very happy to tell me that they sent me a letter of discharge and I can no longer return under any circumstance. It was extremely difficult to get any helpful information out of her. She didn't want to tell me the reason for the discharge. She was just adamant that it didn't matter because they have a policy and I can't come back. I asked multiple times if I could speak with someone else because I didn't know what was happening, and it could simply be a mistake. At every attempt for help or more information, she eagerly waited for me to stop talking so that she could be dismissive again. I'd wager it was the highlight of her day, unless she got to break it to a father that his kid was dead. After I asked to speak with someone else enough times, the same woman told me that I was discharged because I still owed $20 for a prior appointment. At the time, insurance was paying for my appointments. At the time, insurance had previously missed a different payment that I had to correct. Maybe the letter got lost in the mail during my move? Maybe it was never sent? Who knows. There's absolutely no chance of working any of that out with them now. They have a policy you know! Maybe I should have written them a letter of discharge after they missed multiple, scheduled appointments with me, but I didn't have a policy at the time. When I find myself in a better place in life, please know that it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this office or staff.
I needed psychiatric services because my previous provider retired. I reached out to Dr. Geiger for continuation of services. I was "assigned" to Kelly Stone as my new provider. She has been nothing short of amazing. She is knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. There seems to be a severe shortage of mental health providers in the Rockford area, so I was lucky to find ANYONE, much less a professional with her skills. I would highly recommend her.
Patient of 3+ years. I got a phone call 3 days before my appointment because of an $800 balance due!! I asked them why I never received a bill?? No one in the office could answer that question for me. I would have never let something as important as my psychiatrist bill rack up to over $800!! I told them please send me a bill. My appointment date comes and guess what!?! No call from the psychiatrist. Beware of their billing!!! I have yet to see a bill for this money owed and had to find a new doctor!!
They are very accommodating across the board. I see a therapist and a prescriber at this office and have been very pleased. Both know how to interact with their clients and every visit is pleasant. I can't believe they have bad reviews...can't help but feel these folks that are complaining are ones that are poor at planning or keeping with their commitments. THANK YOU TO ALL THAT WORK THERE. YOU ARE ALL PHENOMENAL
I have seen Sue R counselor and Kelly NP. Both are excellent practitioners with both credentialing and years of experience. I am VERY pleased with my treatment. I feel better than I have in years. I don’t know why this office has such a low rating other than in reading the comments people want something for nothing. Under new management! This practice!
I've had nothing but great experiences with Kayla, she makes me feel heard and validated. Calling and ordering prescription refills is a breeze too. I highly recommend this office!
Long time flyer of 20 years and couldn't be happier. Dedicated professionals who address all your medical needs. I highly endorse this group !
Had an appointment made 2 months ago. Waited for the call and no call came. Told me they sent intake paperwork to the wrong email. There’s a violation! Set up another appointment again waited no call. I called said they couldn’t have phone appt because we live in a different state. They knew this when we talked to them over 3 months ago. I have taken unpaid time off work for nothing. If I had not kept my appointment they would certainly be charging me!
This office has disrespected my time on numerous occasions and made several accounting errors forcing me to go through a years worth of bank statements to prove that I have made payments. Sending me mystery bills from over a year ago. They are very unorganized. I would love to take this review down if they could get it together or even acknowledge their wrongdoings. Take your money elsewhere if you need reliability.
I was seeing Eve Zahrndt at The Geiger Clinic for over a year. I had a family emergency and had to cancel and reschedule an appointment the same day I was supposed to be seen. They do have a very strict policy about missed appointments but the receptionist said it was no problem and happily rescheduled me. Four days later I received a letter saying to find another provider and a bill for $80. In one year I missed and rescheduled 2 appointments and I am now terminated as a patient. Eve has a friend named Renee Jones LPC who is now a licensed counselor but needs hours in order to complete another degree. Eve is helping her friend Renee by referring patients to her for counseling. Renee only takes cash or a check made out to her husband which was kind of strange to me. I told Eve from the very beginning of my treatment that I was not interested in counseling, that I only wanted medication management, and she was fine with that. Now that her friend needs hours to complete her degree, Eve suddenly thinks I need counseling. Even though Renee only charges $10 an hour, I am not able to afford it nor am I interested. I am on disability and my income is VERY limited. I think it was very unprofessional to terminate me because I had no interest in seeing her friend. I also had transportation problems to see Renee Jones. I do not drive due to disability. The transportation that I use that is funded by the State of Illinois and will not pay for a ride to a provider who does not bill insurance. I advised Eve of this and she dismissed it saying it was only a "few dollars". It is my understanding that there are counselors on staff at the Geiger Clinic that would accept my insurance but I was not offered that option. I am now terminated as a patient because I cannot afford cash only counseling when there were insurance covered options available. And of course, the few missed but rescheduled appointments to solidify the termination. I am very disappointed in this practice and because of how I was treated, I cannot recommend to others.
