I don't know where to begin. Gencarelli's is like visiting my Italian mother-in-law's kitchen. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted like a long lost relative! Everything about this place is appetizing AF! You will want to buy everything in sight! And, the quality is as good as it gets! I have been hooked on all things Italian since I was blessed to meet my wife 3 decades ago. Oops, I'm getting old! Don't be fooled by commercialized knock offs! Get to Gencarelli's now! The best 7 layer cake around! My mom's favorite, and we celebrated her this past Wednesday. Everyone raved about these cakes. They are so fresh, lite and delicious!

100% Authentic Italian bakery. My boss stops in every now and then and gets various items. Everything I’ve had is fresh and delicious. The danish are always amazing. The cherry and apple danish aren’t far my favorite from what I have had. I would like to try everything they bake. It all looks amazing.

My first visit was Saturday, August 12 to order a birthday cake for my daughter. After going to my old bakery, my niece told me about Gencarelli's. It was like heaven when I entered...a REAL bakery! I live in Piscataway, but would travel to a bakery in South Orange which has since gone down in quality and customer service. Farrah provided EXCEPTIONAL customer service and was extremely patient with me as it was my first visit. The cake was excellent and I am well pleased with my NEW bakery! Kudos to Gencarelli's!

One of the best bakeries around. Got the carrots cake today and it was delicious. However I wasn't happy about the 3% increase when a credit card was used, I feel it's just another way to use fees as an excuse to raise price. If you are going to charge more for credit cards then charge no taxes when you pay cash. Give us something!!!

On Wednesday August 16 2023 at 7:20 PM I decided to try out this bakery for the first time. I wanted to order a butter roll and the African American cashier girl with curly hair told me that the kitchen was closed because they were closing soon, mind you the hours posted clearly says 8 PM. I find that really ridiculous, any other business would never. Especially for something as simple as a butter roll that takes less than 2 minutes. I’m pretty sure if the owners were present that would have never been the response. Never coming here again and I will continue to take my money to CALANDRAS BAKERY.

The cannolis are great! My fiancés childhood bakery the cakes are OMG i took some to family all the way in Virginia Beach Va & they loved it!

I was so very disappointed by the Oreo cake I purchased from Gencarelli’s on 10-11. This is my wife’s actual birthday. I purchased it for her birthday. The Oreo cookies and the cake were very stale. I purchased the cake at 4:30pm and went straight to my apt in Bloomfield which is a 5 min ride and placed in the fridge. She didn’t eat her piece as it was very stale. No one did to be honest. It was thrown out.
