Sapphire Bakery and Restaurant founded in the year 1988 by Claudette J Morris started as an in-home operation mainly to earn additional income to support her family. Why this particular field? Well its known worldwide that Jamaicans are one of the most innovative people in food preparation.
Claudette was exposed to cooking and baking from an early age. She would use recipes handed down from generations before; and added her own little touches to make her dishes and bakery products unique. How did she know they were a hit? From the age of twelve her parents entrusted her in their businesses. Claudette was appointed Storekeeper, these duties were fulfilled after school, weekends and holidays. Claudette's independent mind prompted her to make bakery products which she sold in the establishment. Sales were phenomenal! That is when she knew she had a gift. The Christmas cakes were very popular among neighbors and friends who would spread the word of great tasting her cakes were, soon after Claudette was not only making cakes for the Christmas holidays, but all year round,
Since 2008 Sapphire Bakery and Restaurant has been registered and operating in Connecticut at 15 Park Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002 in the heart of the business community, We currently takes orders for cakes and provides food catering for weddings, parties and other special functions and events.
