All the Geneseo, NY Summer Concerts are free and open to the public. Concerts are held in the Geneseo Village Park most Friday nights during the Summer beginning at 7:00 PM.
As we begin our 6th year of hosting the Geneseo Summer Concerts in the Village Park, we reflect on our purpose, our role in the community, and what we have learned, over time.
Our purpose is to provide free, good, wholesome entertainment for families and friends in our area. We have started a tradition in Geneseo, and our hearts are warmed when we see two or three generations of families enjoying a Friday summer evening in our beautiful Village Park. It is also fine to see old friends meeting and warmly greeting each other, then sitting and tapping their toes to the music.
We have seen a steady growth of audience, and Main Street becoming more lively on Friday evenings. Because we strive for a wide variety of types of music, and excellent quality, we feel the Geneseo community can be assured that they will be entertained and able to fully appreciate the unique setting.
The committee (Sandy Brennan, Kathryn FitzSimmons, Dick Gallivan, Tim Brinduse, and Howard Appell) has lwearned much since we began, in 2009. We now seek musicians who will "fill the stage" and attract a following. We want our audience to experience a "happening."
