0900 appt 0200 check in 0530 assigned door 0600 unloaded with paperwork DELIVERY: Probably the best Cold storage facility in America to deliver too. Americold usually NEVER lets you check in more than an hour early and always charges a late fee, LOL The lot is huge and you check in between doors 5 & 6. the yard goat guy will check your seal, your temp and trailer number You go back to your truck and wait for a phone call for a door Slide your tandems all the way to the back and after unloading the receiver will bring your paperwork out to you. there is a nice restroom inside that is warm. Nice folks to deal with
Americold is always a pleasure. Arrived at 0200 for what we thought was gonna be a live unload but ended up a drop and hook. Nice!! Nice helpful humans. Plenty of overnight parking and it's super quiet. 10/10 would come again
I arrived at this facility approximately 0815 this morning with 1 PALLET which was rejected from one of their customers for reasons which my carrier had nothing to do with. I was not given an appt. time by my supervisor, as this was an unusual delivery. I was returning Americolds freight safely, timely and securely. I drove hard with minimal stops to expedite the returning of their freight. Upon arrival, receiving personal apparently were not concerned whatsoever by my efforts. All they cared about was the appointment time. I do understand how important appointment times are. However, I literally had 1 pallet. This facility has taken other drivers early but, apparently 1 PALLET was too much and an exception could not be made in my case. Therefore, I waited 7 hours for 1 pallet to be taken off my trailer. A HUGE middle finger to me and my family who lost out on half a days pay having to wait 7 hours. Thank you Americold. Thank you for the blatant disrespect and disregard for me and my family. This is precisely why seasoned truck drivers are leaving this industry in droves. I hope I never have to deliver here again.
Horrible place. If you happen to show up late for a pickup, they will charge you $300. Apparently driving in a blizzard is no exception. It's policy they say. Then you will be checked in as a work in which means you will sit around all day for a door. When you get a door, you will sit around the rest of the day to get loaded.
The week of April 30 to May 5, the system was not working, so they were not receiving loads. I need to know if the download service is already working
They were very nice and got me unloaded in a timely manner.
I arrived at 7pm for a 8 pm pickup. I was assigned a door right away. Back up but you keep trailer doors closed until someone comes out and tells you to open them. The loader came out at 7:45 to inform me to open trailer doors and an hour later I was loaded and getting my bills. Good job overall.
Office opens ar 6am, can park and wait. The building remains open, restrooms and vending machine available.
Don't know what happened last few months, used to be great place. Quick load amd unload. Now it is severely bad. Late to get you in a door, make you sit in door burning up all your reefer fuel. And very slow to unload. Don't recommend if you have other pickups. This place will make you late. Sad that they charge if you late, but they wont pay detention if they are late. Update: 8/18/22 gotten worse not better at unloading and loading. Slow, makes you late for other deliveries.
Even though everything was slow, my unloader was fast. Theres grass for dogs to run around on, plenty of maneuvering room, easy docking, clean parking lot and overnight parking with appt.
