Moved out in June of 2022, Still haven’t Received my SECURITY DEPOSIT back from them. It now February of 2023. They have NO reason NOT to give me back my Security Deposit. The Apartment that I lived in is already Rented! UPDATE: Still haven’t received my Security Deposit back, It is now August of 2023 .
We’ve been staying here a year and the area is nice but they really do need better people working in the office & maintenance. My kitchen sink has leaked from the time we moved in until last year until nowcan’t tell you how many towels we’ve had to throw away because of it, the roaches are out of this world crazy you can actually see them coming in when you open the front door and the Pest guy only comes once every 4 months, the wall paint is poorly painted and the stains is noticeably bleeding through, the master bedroom closet ceiling has been down since we been here and no matter the amount of requests you put in they won’t budge, maintenance only moves if it’s a light bulb that needs to be fixed or if the air isn’t working they don’t want those legal problems! Was told we would be relocated due to apartment renovations and it wasn’t until I called the front office to learn that they weren’t renewing our lease. So would they have even told me if I hadn’t called? I wouldn’t recommend this place to a homeless guy off the street the ONLY reason we moved here was because it was the cheapest we could afford until we started work. Funny thing is a tenant who was moving out when we moved in warned us lol.. Seriously guys RUN !! They make it sound good when they’re talking to you but this place is a dump. Stuff will start to fall apart as soon as people start “living” in the units.. Spend the extra coin and go somewhere else! P.S. Yes I’m still here writing this review y’all need the truth!
A lot of people complain about roaches. Haven't seen a lot as of having a friend living here for a month. The main issues here are communication between tenants to management to maintenance. These are old apartments. Don't expect anything to be updated unless you get a renovated apartment. They are worn out however have cute and cozy features. The location is phenomenal and you get what you pay for. I advise that you be savvy at general repairs so that you can take care of a leaking toilet or other misc small repairs otherwise you may be waiting a VERY long time to get a repair done. I also advise you submit all requests in writing and get your own copy to hold onto. I also recommend going directly into the office and not calling for any requests. You must be proactive and stay on your requests if they aren't completed in a timely fashion.
These were okay cheap apartments under previous management. Not high life living or perfect, but what you would expect from okay cheap apartments. Roaches, but not bad, thin walls, crappy parking. With the change to their current management they have begun nickle and dime the residents. Large Rent increases, lack of notice on upcoming changes, and far too short notice on the completion of my lease. These apartments require a 60 day notice on a move out, and we received notice of the expiration of our lease in that same time, leaving us no time to consider our options. The staff have been pleasant save the woman I believe is the manager, who has been rude to her employees. She is fawning to the guests, but someone who is nice to you but rude to the waiter is not a nice person. Do not expect to see maintenance in a timely fashion. We have had maintenance issue that are months late on attention, if they will receive attention at all. I'm stuck here through another lease, the moment it is done I am leaving. Avoid these apartments.
Me and my family have moved here from NY in July 2017. We viewed the apartments online and thought it was a nice area to raise my 10yr old. Upon walk through the windows were missing screens, my daughters bedroom window is broken. The Leasing agent knew this prior to the walk through and I was told that the window and screens had been ordered. That was a lie. It’s now 3 months later and still no screens and my daughters window is not fixed. My husband was told the company they used went out of business. Wouldn’t they have known that if they were actually ordered prior to move in?? Had water leak in kitchen because of rusty old pipes. Kitchen cabinets have a horrible paint smell even after cleaning with several cleaning agents. Took us forever to get rid of the mold/mildew smell in our closet. We had a problem with roaches which my asthmatic 10yr is allergic toand outside bugs. After buying several cans of $15 bug spray that was recommended by the maintenance guy, we see the roaches here and there. But for the amount of rent we’re paying I shouldn’t have to spend money on bug spray or see not one roach. Only saw the exterminator a week after move in and he did nothing but spray in the hallway and behind the stove. It appears that there paint job was to cover up the mold on the walls. My bathroom tub is growing mold around it after it had already been covered up. The inside of the tub was painted and now chipping away. My shoes, designer pocketbooks, my husbands boots and other items have mold growing on them now. Isn’t this a health hazard? We have gone to the leasing office several times about several different things that should be fixed bedroom doors not closing, bathroom toilet doesn’t flush properly, bathroom door doesn’t close properly and still no damn window screens. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The surrounding area is beautiful through the eyes of a New Yorker.
These landlords are negligent as well as lazy. We have gone without toilet facilities and electrical sockets for months now, leaving complaint after complaint. How long should a landlord be expectant that tenants wait for proper plumbing? A month is obviously too long. We have called hud, someone WILL be fixing this issue or there will be legal consequences. Bugs in a toilet that will not flush is unacceptable, so is a $400 water bill due to faulty plumbing.
We have lived here for two years now. Apartment is cheaply fixed, roaches are painted on the walls. Walls are dirt thin. The people in the office are rude our a.c. has broken 12 times in the past two years. And horrible roach problem that they won't fix I'm talking about thousands of roaches! The pest control does not show up but they tell office that they did. Gaps between walls and windows so electric is sky high. Shower, the water barely works bubbles all in the paint. And hundreds of other things that are wrong with these apartments. If the health department came they would shut this complex down. Oh did I mention I witnessed a kid getting shot right behind my building! And a perv getting arrested at the bus stop for touching kids? Also told the office that there was someone below us dealing drugs having people all hours of the night walking around and we didn't feel safe? I have two small children! Do NOT move here!!!!
Horrific apartments. I had 2 water leaks in a short span because the AC ducts in my upstairs neighbor's apartment leaked. This caused mold that was covered up, after weeks of putting in requests and finally calling the corporate office, by a spray can that says explicitly it's not to be used on mold. I know this because they left a can of it from a previous water leak that caused mold in the bathroom. Maintenance staff is woefully inadequate and under qualified. Roaches were a problem from the moment I moved in back in 2016. I finally bought my own stuff to take care of it because the exterminators they hire to spray don't do anything. Now the roaches are gone, no thanks to the management. I also had to ask to have the door resealed to hopefully cut down on energy costs, but there are other uninsulated and drafty areas. I had an issue that took almost 2 years for them to fix where my and my neighbor's kitchen water would back up into my kitchen and cause floods. This was because my pipes were apparently clogged deep down and the water was going out a pipe on the back of the building straight onto the ground. If the pipe froze in winter, the water would back up into my kitchen sink and the unsealed laundry hookup behind the fridge. The pipe made the back of my unit a cesspool because all the soaps and food waste that went down the kitchen sink, dishwasher, or laundry hookup my neighbors definitely use theirs would just spill out onto the ground and fester there. Finally they hired someone to come spray air or high pressure water down the line and it cleared up the issue. I'm not sure if it's because I called the town on them for it, but it was suspiciously close. The outside of the units are always dirty. The units haven't been power-washed in years, except maybe the ones directly on the street so they can show off. The laundry room was and may still be missing a window because someone broke it and broke the card reader inside. These apartments are the epitome of slums and they have the audacity to charge what they do for bad service and almost no amenities. I was told when I moved in they were adding a gym, coffee bar, and maybe a pool down the line. None of this has happened and ever will. The "playgrounds" are laughable and covered in graffiti. They are taking advantage of lower income people and immigrants who won't complain loudly. Even when I moved in they showed their incompetence. The office worker forgot it was my move in day and they hadn't cleaned from the previous tenant. Since that was the only day I had to move in, they had to quickly clean and didn't do nearly a good enough job. I was pulling pins and sewing needles from the previous tenants for months. I had to borrow a large magnet from a friend to get everything up. I still have the old carpets and old shoddy cabinets. The mold in the bathroom was there when I moved in and took over 2 years to get addressed. I started using the app to make requests because I do not trust anyone in the revolving door of an office to actually put in requests. Any positive reviews must be bought ones or people who live in the outer buildings, because this place simply does not care. It's a blight on Cary, and an insult to the working class people who live here. Any responses they've made to poor reviews likely fell on deaf ears and exist only as bare minimum PR. Potential renters: do not trust their model apartments and office staff. They will lie and happily accept your money.
I miss the old management; the old management would at least send someone out to fix things when they broke. The new manager seems to treat her staff like crap, which is sort of telling about how the new management runs the site. It looks much nicer now, but it's only cosmetic. My roommate and I both have leaks and water damage in our bedroom ceilings, which we dutifully reported. A week or two later, the complex sent out maintenance to look at it and they simply spray-painted over the stains. When that didn't actually fix the leak, they had some strange woman come out here to look at it without any documentation to prove who she was, she said "Yep, you've got water damage. I'll be back to fix it tomorrow." and we never saw her again. They've raised our rent considerably without proper notice, and now that they've done so, they're not consistent about why our rates were raised so much. For example, we were told that our water bill was going to be included in this new rate hike, yet I was surprised to learn a week ago that we're still not paying for water. So why are we paying nearly $150/month more than we were before, and why weren't we given the two months notice required by law? They've signed us up for and started billing us for a new billing service that we never consented to, they have people come out here to work on your apartment without giving you proper notice... For example, just yesterday we had two guys in hoodies come by, knocking door to door with a long box in hand, claiming they were there to replace the blinds. However, all of the blinds were replaced a few months ago when the complex had new windows put in, which was itself a two-week affair. Under the new management, we've had maintenance take three weeks to get out here just to fiddle with the breaker to fix our AC during the summer. It's ridiculous. They have put in new signage and new lights, put a lock on the laundry room, and seem to have replaced the old washers. They also put in new windows and a fresh coat of paint on all the doors. They say they're going to put in a pool and a little gym or fitness room, but I've seen no signs of that developing whatsoever. I'm glad to see them improve the site, but they need to start telling us what's going on and they need to fix the things like the holes in our roofs before the fancy, showy things. And they need to start treating their residents like people instead of an annoying, replaceable commodity. The old management didn't have all the same resources this new group does, but they actually cared about their residents' well-being. I'm not sure if the new management gives a crap about anything as long as the rent checks keep coming in.
I tell you this would be a wonderful place to live if they do more work inside these apartments. Before I first got here it was roaches everywhere, I had water leakage at least once a week. the maintenance staff totally sucks it takes them at least 2 weeks to fix a problem when you report it. The staff never answer the phone when you call. I feel like they care about the outside more h do inside the apartments. This is my last year staying here I will sleep in my car instead to have to deal with these crazy people.. I would not recommend no one at this place!!!!
