Missed sharp is the supervisor over there. And probably one of the most helpful employees there. I usually get amazing service in that first front room. The actual service itself isn’t the best, but I do appreciate them doing what they can. I’m just glad I have a back bone through my unemployment process. It’s helped me get by, and miss sharp was quick and very respectful and kind to help me get what I needed. Shout out to miss sharp.
I've gone in here a couple of times for questions and support. I've also had to come here only once to sit through a video thing. What I will say is that the staff are nice, efficient, and give you the info you need and what they're able to and nothing else. I see a lot of negative reviews, and I don't know why. It's a very straightforward process, and if you happen to get a staff member that seems frustrated, it's probably because they're repeating info you already have, or you're asking for something they literally can't do. From my experiences plural, they have always been spot on!
If I could Give this place 0 stars I would. They NEVER answer the phone. Everyone always suggest you go into the office no matter if you've been in there 5 times already and still no action has been taken in helping you. The staff are very short with you just to get you out of their face. I've been missing payments for an entire month for a question answered wrong. I was Told to go complete a 421 form and they would fix this and I would see my payments again. Here it is 3 weeks later, still have not received anything.
Ms Reid and Ms Fluker were so professional, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. They really took the time to break things down and help me understand. They walked me thru the process and made sure that I had everything done before it left. They are simply amazing! I would have given 5 stars if they had more help. As great as these women were to me, the amount of staff compared to the amount of work and people needing help is outrageous. THEY NEED HELP! Don’t burnout good workers. Please get them some help because we need more people like them doing this kind of work. The DEPARTMENT OF LABOR and the people of Georgia can’t afford to lose these two because professionals like these are hard to find and impossible to replace. Please fix it.
Please do better. Waiting on the phone for TWO HOURS to speak to a representative is insane. And update, I still haven’t spoken to anyone. Don’t treat your tax paying residents like this. Every single negative review is justified.
Should be able to give 0 stars. No one seems like they are working. They never pick up the phone in less than 40 min hold time. If you do get someone on the phone you will get a complete different answer than the last person. They will hold on to your payments for months even after you have submitted everything. The most horrible and unprofessional service I have ever used.
Have been waiting on a UI appeal case for over 2 years literally, not being hyperbolic at all at this point. Was told when I initiated the appeal that there would be a period prior to the hearing where the employer would submit their supporting documentation and I could submit mine. Got a hearing notification in the mail indicating the hearing is next week. So uh... I guess we're just skipping that part and the hearing officer will just make a decision based on what is claimed during the hearing? Tried to call to understand why the entire discovery/evidence portion of the appeal was just skipped over only to remember that they close at 4PM. What kind of department of labor operates EXCLUSIVELY during hours that people participating in the labor force You know, the ones they're supposed to serve cannot utilize their services? Hour+ wait times so good luck trying to make that phone call while you're at work on your break. Can't even figure out who you're supposed to talk to about your issue. Which means that time you spent waiting will probably be spent waiting on the wrong department, then you can wait all over again because a direct transfer between divisions is somehow not possible in 2023. They don't send communications when they say they will. But heaven forbid you slip up and miss a deadline. I was supposed to receive an email confirmation within two weeks of my submission. It took over 9 MONTHS. Their phone system is obviously designed to turn as many people away as possible. On top of that, unless you know that you can just say "operator" over and over again to speak to someone, you'll be forced to listen to random blurbs about what the DoL is doing before you can even attempt to talk to someone. Here's a hint DoL... Nobody calling cares that you've merged two career centers. And you know what? If they DO care and this is how they're finding out, then YOU failed at your job yet again. There should have been mail/email notifications sent out to all affected. Instead you just force everyone who calls to listen to a 60 second explanation of the merge... Yeah, I'm irate. No, I don't care if I seem unreasonable. This is absurd and inexcusable.
I do not understand why there are so many negative reviews. The staff here are humble and helpful to Atlanta’s citizens. I have always been met with kindness from the security guards to the individuals that work at the desk. It is a very organized process if you follow their instructions.
I usually avoid going into physical locations however this location is a pleasant experience every time. The people who work here are friendly, thorough, and move very quickly. The lady at the door deserves twice of whatever they’re paying her!
After four visits to this office, I can tell you that the only helpful person here is the parking lot attendant. They will give you the runaround, they will give you excuses, but what they will NOT give you is the unemployment money that your previous employer paid into the system. My recommendation to anyone thinking about moving to Georgia is: if you fall on hard times in this state, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. Medicaid and unemployment are nearly impossible to get.
