The food here is amazing considering Italian is not a goto dish for many in Texas, so finding a good spot is not that easy. My biggest gripe is with takeout which always seems to be long. We've ordered multiple times with a 30min estimate and all times it was usually twice as long to get the food. Another nitpick is that if I spend almost $100 on takeout, I don't expect my food to be placed in an HEB bag. So if you go to this place just dine in only.
My family and I went in for dinner late one night, less than an hour before closing. The owner and his staff were very welcoming despite this. We sat down and ordered and quickly got our delicious food. This place is owned and run by an Italian family. More legitimate than most Italian restaurants, and certainly beats the Olive Garden. The House bread alone, was worth the price of the meal. It tasted like it was freshly made just for us. We had the cannoli for dessert, and it couldn’t have been more authentic. Freshly prepared, like all of our food was. Highly recommended. This review was written by a NY foodie.
Food was not good. Service was slow, not very friendly. Don't waste your time eating here. Alfredo sauce is bland. Lasgna tasted weird. Chicken parmesan was ok, lacked flavor. Dinner rolls even bland.Food: 1/5
Visited this place late on a Sunday, just before closing. We were greeted and not rushed. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. This restaurant is owned and operated by a family of Italian immigrants and could not be more authentic. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
My wife and I moved to Frisco recently and have been enjoying trying new restaurants and are very glad we tried Giovanni’s. The clam appetizer with spicy marinara was absolutely incredible and both of our entrees were delicious as well. Finished off with a cappuccino and tiramisu which made for a perfect end to an amazing meal. The chef came by during each course due to it not being packed when we went which was a nice touch also. We will definitely be back!
Love this place. Food is so good every time we come. Great cocktails as well. Had the lemoncello cosmo- tasty. For dinner I got my favorite dish there the rigatoni ala vodka. My wife got the chicken marsala. Both so good. Big portions. Also had a great server, Jessica. Made it even better.
Food is great, really, really good. But it's small. Too much money for the size. We paid $20 for five ravioli. Kids cheese pizza was $13 each and two shared one medium pizza that was essentially $26. Again, great quality, but very expensive for a very small amount of food.
The only thing better than the amazing food was the service Jessica our server provided. We enjoyed chicken Parmesan, lasagna and ended with a special cannoli. Due to the fact they were out of chocolate cake Jessica made the nicest chocolate covered cannoli. Such an amazing place and food creating the best night.
Our new favorite restaurant in Frisco! It’s a hidden gem tucked in a strip mall off Main and Legacy.Everything we have eaten has been delicious! The Salmon Bella Donna is my favorite! The ravioli is great too! It is intimate, romantic, and has the best jazz, big band, and swing music.
Had dinner there tonight: The food left so much to be desired. We ordered salads, mine was drenched in dressing to disguise the wilted brown lettuce. My husband ordered a side of meatballs which they must be frozen and the defrost by steaming because they were cold and you could taste the water from the defrost process. The worst part is that I ordered the filet, the cut look like scrap meat and was cooked all the way through despite ordering it medium rare. The chef came out to ask how everything was, our waitress had not come back to check on us after dropping off our food so I told him about my filet being over cooked. He asked if they could make me something else and I asked if they could just make the filet rare and he said let me go ask. What? He came back and said that was their last filet. I told him no thanks, that I didn’t want anything else. The waitress finally came back and said she would discount my meal, I thought for sure she meant take it off my bill. Nope, she took $5.00 off my meal. I was like OK, 15% tip it is. I realize she didn’t make the steak but she had the chance to make it right and instead it was insult to injury. My dogs enjoyed an over cooked scrap filet tonight.
