I cannot say enough about Glen Park Assisted living, Staff are very professional, friendly, caring, and always available for their residents. The place is very clean and I highly recommend Glen Park to anybody who is looking for a nice assisted living. I also would like to mention two special people name here since they are always respond my phone calls and emails right away. They are Ms. Rachel De Chavez and Ms. Martha. Thank you so much for your help and support to our loved ones.
Glen Park is by far the best assisted living facility I have found for my loved one in need of memory care. I did extensive research to find Glen Park and each time I visit I am consistently impressed with the staff, the facility and the program that they offer. I am forever grateful to Glen Park Mariposa for the thoughtful and compassionate care they continue to provide.
I was referred here by the APFM registry. I phoned a day ahead, got a tour appointment for 10 am today, and drove for 35 minutes to get here. There was only one person answering the phones, the front door, wandering demented residents, and she called around to find Rachel my contact. However, after 15 minutes, no one had come forth to help me. And the odor in the lobby was quite annoying. So I left and got back on the freeway.
Your professionalism and attention to detail has exceeded our expectations. We are grateful to have found a loving and cozy home for our mother. She loves living at Glen Park. Your staff is amazing, very friendly and caring. Thank you for all you! I highly recommend Glen Park to anyone who is looking for an assisted living home for their loved one.
I have been coordinating in-home care and placement into assisted living for about 10 years now and have always experienced quality service through the Glen Park facilities as well as their new in-home care venture. Their facilities are truly a step above the rest and have great rates at their locations showing that they are in the care business to help people, not just to make money. I can't say enough good things about Glen Park as a whole and all of their amazing locations! Specifically speaking about the local Glendale locations, I have worked with placing seniors into both of these facilities. Also, their staff has called on us to help them resolve some emergency needs for same day hospital bed delivery and other issues so that they could continue to provide service to their clients without interruption. Communication has been great with the administrators of the Glendale locations as well as the care and admissions staff.
My perception of Assisted Living Facilities was never great until arriving to Glen Park. Their staff members know the residents by name and treat them as family. They have a great menu and offer the residents a fresh juice bar to keep them healthy! The facility well maintained, clean and smells good! It’s wonderful to see a small family owned business that cares about each resident instead of treating them like a number!!
My name is Pearl Edmundson, I am the proud daughter of William Koeck a Vietnam Veteran in the 101st Airborne Scream'n Eagles who served this country and was placed in a Nursing Home by the VA Hospital after his first stroke. The first Nursing Home in Bakersfield helped my Dad recover., called us regularly and did physical therapy daily and before the month ended my Dad came home to live with us. The second stroke took his ability to walk and the Memory Loss set in further. The VA Hospital sent my Dad to a Nursing Home in Lake View Terrace and the Nightmare there began, his treatment there was something out of a horror film, he lost close to fifty pounds in a matter of months. He signed his own discharge papers wearing staff pants 4 sizes to big, tied with a nurse's rubber glove to hold them on, because all my Dad's Harband clothes were missing, along with most everything else he brought there. Not all Nursing Homes are nightmares, some care and offer help. I am not going to mention the name of the Nursing Home that scared my Dad to protect the guilty. We heard about Glenpark through " A Place For Mom." Dementia and Alzheimer's they say can improve with diet and care. The facility is on Alkaline water, the food is great, but the treatment and care gave my Dad, who is now a Great Grandpa, back his dignity. The babies can visit him there and we all walk to the park and lunch just around the corner. The difference between the staff at the overpriced Nursing home where Great Grandpa laid sedated in a room with several beds and no T.V. is the staff here at Glenpark knows him by name, he is Not sedated, he is catered too, even if he repeats the same question or does the same actions over and over. Great Grandpa was scared in the Nursing Home, but the staff here makes him feel like he is in his own apartment and normal. Was it just about the money for the Nursing Home, was my Dad, the kids Grandpa, and now Great Grandpa, just a throw away person to that state run Home? You have to understand Alzheimer's/Dementia to treat the individual, it gets unusual the way the brain misfires information. Glenpark treats my Dad who has severe Memory Loss like he has value to this world, they talk to him like a normal human being, and praise him regularly for his service to this country. The price is affordable with his income and help from us and the Grandkids who are grown. My Dad needs a big screen T.V. with the Western Channel in his room because of his eyesight, he needed a tile floor for the wheelchair, and cookies and coffee for comfort. Glenpark allowed us to meet those needs. Several times a day they help him with the Senior Remote so he can watch his Westerns. We didn't ask for a tile floor, they saw my Dad struggling on the carpet with the wheelchair and without the use of his legs to walk and he doesn't realize he can't walk, he struggled to perform simple things.Glenpark made a room special for him. If you have a family member with memory loss contact Glen Park in Glendale, I do not care if it is far from your home, we drive 2 hours just to get there, it is worth it. The price is amazing, but the most important thing to my heart is that my Dad is truly cared about, he's not a throw away person to me, and Glenpark actually goes above and beyond in assisting him, greater than anything I could have imagined, they understand the quirks that come with memory loss. I appreciate the staff at Glen Park more than I say and more than they know. Thank you A Place For Mom for sharing.
Absolutely, 100%, DO NOT trust your loved one to be cared for at this facility. On multiple occasions, patients/residences have been LOST and/or misplaced. This falls under the category of neglect and abuse. The staff members are not competent in facility safety guidelines. Please reconsider if you wish to put your loved one here. The state of California has been contacted to go and investigate incidences and interview staff regarding horrific abuse allegations at this facility. Please do your due diligence and review the quality measures and staff competency. Information should Always be posted inside the facility next to their state licensing and emergency policies. Horrible Facility that should be SHUT DOWN!
On April 22, 2019, my brother who suffers from dementia moved in as a resident. That same evening, he wandered out the front door un-noticed by the receptionist. The staff failed to realize he was missing until after 11pm that night, at which time the Glendale PD was notified. I was not contacted until after 2am on April 23rd. My brother was located over 48 hours later near the Hollywood-Burbank Airport. He was severely dehydrated, had not eaten in over 60 hours and had soiled himself. He spent over 2 days in the hospital and despite this ordeal, has recovered remarkably well. I have several criticisms of this facility: 1. They were told he will wander. They failed to secure his safety. 2. The staff did not recognize him as a high risk resident. He simply walked out the front door. 3. During and after the incident, I did not receive a call from the owners of the facility, the Pinks, expressing support or empathy. I have yet to receive ANY communication from them. They did nothing to help in locating my brother. If you plan on leaving a loved one in their care, look beyond the fancy brochure and pictures on the wall. L.Lopez, Porter Ranch, CA
