Hands down the best campground staff in the world! Bob and his team are the best. They went way above and beyond to accommodate and help us out during our stay. The facilities, campsites, dog park and pool were all in pristine condition. This campground is located right on the beautiful Colorado River with easy access to endless outdoor recreation and activities the area has to offer. If you are traveling through this area this is a must stop. Thanks a million Bob and KOA Staff! We look forward to seeing you again this spring!
Great CG close to Aspen, Vail and Glenwood Springs. Plenty to do. Gas station right at the entrance with a diesel island and DEF right at the pump as well. Very convenient. There is a walkway right next to the Colorado River. Very nice! We would stay again!
A very well kept KOA with helpful staff. Lots of amenities. My site was a bit small, even for my teardrop trailer but the staff member who led me to the site was helpful while I was backing in. The Colorado River borders the campground, I saw people fishing off the banks. A nice gas station & convenience store is right next door. Good ATT signal.
Amazing experience! Staff were amazing! We were tent camping, and while we were out getting food on our first night, a severe storm came through, and all our stuff was soaked. Our tent was destroyed, and we didn't know what we could do. It was still raining heavy so we couldn't go anywhere on the motorcycle to get new stuff or anything. Thousands of miles from home and all our belongings and our temporary housethe tent were in shambles. One of the gals at the front desk offered to drive us to Walmart after she got done working for the day. Luckily the rain let up a bit so we rode over and replaced what we needed to. The staff checked up on us to be sure we were OK. Our time there was wet and insane for sure. But the only reason it wasn't miserable is because the staff were so incredibly kind. Very big hearts at this site! Thank you to the gal that offered us a ride and to the staff that checked up on us! Facilities were also very clean and nice.
We really enjoyed our time at this KOA. We had a camping cabin that was right on the water and next to the bathroom building. Cabin was spacious and beds were acceptable as expected. Pool was fun...a little chilly, but the hot tub was nice. Only complaint was proximity to the highway and the associated road noise. Not really an issue inside, but heard it while outside.
Let's start with the fact that there is no “West Glenwood Springs”. The town the KOA is in is called Silt, Colorado. Glenwood Springs is a town approx. 25 mins east of Silt. One of the most significant issues I encountered was the rude behavior of Camp Host Jim. During my stay, he was highly discourteous and even harassed us multiple times, which made us feel truly unwelcome. Additionally, his poor attitude in fulfilling his responsibilities and balancing hospitality left much to be desired. Additionally, another male host was confrontational and demonstrated rude behavior, which embarrassed us in front of other guests. However, I must commend the lovely front desk people who were kind and courteous and provided excellent customer service. Their positivity was a bright spot during my stay; I am thankful for that. On a brighter note, the exceptional cleanliness and maintenance of the campground impressed us, and the grounds were very well kept up. Overall, it is with a heavy heart that I have to give KOA “Glenwood Springs West” in Silt a 1-star review. It's a shame that such a beautiful stretch of property has gone to waste due to poor management and a bad experience with particular camp hosts.
We enjoyed our stay here, easy access to the river, nice pool area and main lodge, spots are roomy, and the staff is exceptional. Shuttle rides offered to a local restaurant. Two notable downsides are the traffic noise from I-70, and the park is apparently no longer accepting mail and parcel deliveries on behalf of customers.Rooms: 5/5
We have never been treated so poorly ever. We have a very large family and we’re here to spread our parents ashes. Grandkids and great grandkids joined us and it had been a while since we were all together. We made these reservations in December and asked to all be together. Well we were not all together and were told that on 4 different occasions. We got here and there was nothing they could do to get us together. Well the spots surrounding our family were only occupied for one night each. They could have gotten us closer but chose not too. They were constantly yelling at someone from our group for no reason. We paid for everyone to be here and enjoyed the pool one day and then were told we were mot allowed at the pool ever again. One family member paid for river front spot which is more expensive and they moved them to a regular spot and didn’t give them a refund. Will never stay at this campground ever again.
Staff very nice. Site 10 was along the rushing river. Full hookup with a beautiful gazebo and firepit which included a gas barbecue, table and chairs and Adirondack chairs along the river. Cement pads. Grass was lush and green. No animal remnants. Two washers and dryers in the 24 hour building but more available in the main building within business hours. Friendly staff. Pool, hot tub, playground for kids. Great wifi signal. Definitely would have stayed much longer. A bit surprised it was 20 minutes to Glenwood Springs but worth the drive. Near gas, groceries.
The view! The view! We stayed for 4 nights during our 2+ weeks of camping in Colorado. This KOA and overall, this campground was our favorite. We stayed river facing, but no patio, just picnic table and it was beautiful however, next time I would definitely get the patio - it is just so nice. The showers and bathrooms reminded me of a hotel : always nice and clean, I actually preferred their showers to our tiny one in the RV. Laundromat machines are clean and the space is overall enjoyable and neat. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. And, of course, the VIEW! Stunning! Gorgeous sunsets over the mountains! Also, close enough to Aspen, obviously to Glenwood Springs, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, and on the other side - ice caverns and other awesome hikes! If we are back in the area- we will definitely stay there again! Playground: Nice playground for kids. Restrooms: Very clean!!! Dog-friendliness: Large dog park for dogs to run around!
