The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine at Tulane University is the World's first teaching kitchen operated by a medical school.
The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine has multiple facets: educating future physicians through courses at Tulane University School of Medicine, educating current physicians through Continuing Medical Education courses, and serving the community by offering free cooking classes.
The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine at Tulane University is an interactive teaching kitchen providing cooking skills for health improvement throughout the greater New Orleans community. We offer instruction on the principles of healthy food preparation and meal planning, breaking down the perceived barriers of cost, time and flavor through hands-on cooking classes, community discussions and outreach programs.
The center educates community members as well as current and future physicians about fundamental culinary skills and nutrition knowledge in order to enhance the patient-physician dialogue about the importance of dietary and lifestyle change.
