Good Shepherd Clinic provides no cost primary medical care to uninsured residents of Clayton County, GA who have limited financial resources.
Dr. Thomas Kelley and Rev. Dr. Jimmy Lewis came together with a vision that all Clayton County residents should have access to quality medical care without consideration for their ability to pay.
In September of 2000 the Good Shepherd Clinic was born, with Dr. Kelly providing simple acute medical care one evening a week. In the 17 years since its opening, the Clinic has been able to grow to provide free medical care to thousands of Clayton County residents.
Good Shepherd Clinic is now open three days a week, staffed primarily by medical and administrative volunteers, and has the capacity to see upwards of 5000 patient encounters per year. In addition to acute care, the clinic now primarily acts as a healthcare home to its many patients providing ongoing healthcare for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and COPD. In addition to medical care, Good Shepherd Clinic provides an array of Health Education classes, and works to provide patients with prescription assistance.
