I love this park! It’s great for kids, not too many people attend this park. They have a long trail that you can take your pets on an your children. Great bonding time. Great people as well. Only thing I wish they had their little slash pool open when hot a lot of kids where looking forward for that like a week ago. Other than that is a really great place!
Fresh air and quiet nice trail and good place to explore with the kids..
Small waterpark and playground equipment, nothing fancy and zero shade. I think there are better parks in the city.
I visited the park that just happens to b right down the street from me during Friends of Gordon park day had an excellent time with my daughter there tht day
Look. I am giving Gordon park 5 stars solely based on the fact that for a park located in a very densely populated area the bathrooms here were clean as any park Ive been to....wow. Beats truck stops and gas station bathrooms by miles. Bonus: The playground was nice the green space was plentiful and theres a parking lot. As City Parks go...seriously. Darn fine work.
Wonderful park near a bus stop that heads to university and polling place for river west
This place has both an indoor and outdoor shelter, splash pad, playground, and a soccer field. The trails lead down to the river for some great birdwatching. The beer line bike trail runs through this park.
Nice park Very well maintained Nice playground for the kids We visited last night to watch the rescheduled 4th of July fireworks display We enjoyed it along with bunch of other family's & folks just wanting to enjoy the show Mpd and Mke sheriff's office helped everyone exit safely It was a great time
Gordon Park is a great park. On first look it seems pretty small. But if you follow the path down to the river you can see some amazing art. The graffiti artists go down and paint all of the concrete surfaces. Some of the pieces are incredibly detailed. There's also paths that run parallel to the river for quite a ways if you'd like to go hiking. There's a big paved path that's a continuation of the beer line on the south end of the park that goes all the way to North Avenue. In the summer they turn the water on. It's a big sprinkler system that's safe for kids of all ages. We call it a splash pad. I don't really know the real name but it's essentially a ton of sprinklers that spray in different amounts, directions, and stream shapes/sizes. The playground is nice. It still has swings which is always a plus to me. Parks are losing their swings, so for a park to rebuild the playground and keep their swings is a big deal. There's also a big flat grass field that can be used for soccer, football, etc. And a covered area that can be rented for larger groups. Gordon Park's proximity to the river also gives you an opportunity to see wildlife in the middle of the city. I've seen deer, coyotes, butler's garter snakes, red tail hawks, and more in Gordon park. The cherry on this park is the fireworks for the fourth of July. I highly recommend Gordon Park for your outdoor activities.
Areas for children to play & access to the Milwaukee River to walk your dogs
