I had the privilege of working in this safety net hospital during the pandemic. The city of Atlanta truly couldn't survive without Grady. Shout out to the amazing nurses and nurse leaders in 4B! They are compassionate and attentive to the needs of the patients and their loved ones. #Gradystrong
In a world where people are value base off of a certain amount of monetary. Grady and ALL THE STAFF really CARE and it shows. I am an Atlanta native. I have been to numerous of medical facilities across GA and Grady Hospital has come ALONG way. I was born here and I hear stories but from my experience this is the absolute best hospital in the city they really care about you and they go over and be-on to help their patients. I can’t stress out enough the care that the staff has for the patient it’s Truly Amazing. Thank you to The lady at the information desk and to Bianca in primary care department everybody in the dermatology department vascular department I appreciate EVERYTHING!!!!
I will not take any of my family back to Grady unless it's only to save their life. In that case as soon as they are stable they will be transferred to another hospital. My mother was in there for 12 days and that was the worse 12 days. She was in Trauma unit for 4 days and if it hadn't been for one nurse and an x-ray tech she would have never gotten anything to eat. Dr's don't come around to talk to the family. Every time they said they were moving my mom they would do it in the middle of the night. We asked the nurse to call me or my brother and let us know that she was moved and that never happened. When we showed up the next day we never knew what floor she would be on. When we called to talk to her nurse we were hung up on so many times. One star is actually being nice cause they don't even deserve a one star.
Came to Grady on a Thursday night with a bad stomach ache. Knowing that I had a hernia in which was supposed to be fixed in 2008, but they had a recall on the mesh. The hernia didn’t bother me until this particular day due to recovery from a stomach virus. I sat in the waiting room for a while but I saw how the staff worked in the waiting area and some of the people were so disrespectful to them while they were trying to HELP. I waited for a while of course because they were very busy, but like I said I got to see what those ladies and gentlemen go through with the patients. I was called to the back and explain to the doctor what was going on with me and he order a CT SCAN. Took the scan and within the hour they were letting me know that I was going to emergency surgery within the hour. The surgeon came and explained to my sister and I what they were going to do and came back to get in about 30 mins. I am so GRATEFUL for all of the doctors/surgeons that had anything to do with my surgery. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Also I would like to thank the nurse that took care of me on 5J09… I tried to remember her name and she continued to say that her name was Renee and she was a traveling nurse. OMG. she’s the best. Very professional and knows her job. IN ALL THANKS SO MUCH GRADY. YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE 5 STARS BECAUSE YOU SAVED MY LIFE.
I want to thank each and every one at Grady's Surgery Center. You All was very nice to me. Very professional and informative.my name is Sharon Wright, not Simmons. You all took wonderful care of me before and after my surgery l was a few minutes late, and you all took me in, l can't remember every bodies name, but thanks from down to the doctor's to the nurses and in between. May God bless each and every one of you .
They're treating a family member in the trauma unit. Slow to come when buzzed possibly due to short staffing which is understandable but never in my life have I seen the families of the patient be treated so horribly as at Grady hospital. And not even just my family. The second shift staff is rude, short tempered and quick to decide to get a manager involved if explanations as to what is going on are asked for. Obviously no one hopes to end up visiting the trauma unit, but if my family had the power to take our family member somewhere else and the ability to do so we would. I'm only giving two stars because some of the doctors involved are wonderful, I hope they have better nurses in training.
For years I have had a bad idea of this hospital. Recently my MIL was taken there due to a fall. They admitted her in the geriatric wing. What a blessing! She has been In Emory several times but the team at Grady recognized her failing mental state. We were at a decision point with her but we’re lost as what to do. They kept us informed. The social workers were wonderful when it came to assisting us in selecting a rehab facility. Thank you!
I have somebody that’s a patient at Grady yes they are the best hospital when it comes to different stuff. When it comes to patients rights and medical information y’all need to do way better. It should not matter how the patient came into the hospital under what Ever condition he or she may be in if the patient can’t talk for his or her self and the family is asking for they medical records y’all should be able to give that information.
My son was life flighted from Blue Ridge to the burn unit after suffering an arc flash. To all the staff, including emergency, EMS, I can't begin to describe the sincere gratitude for taking time and doing above and beyond to help my son and family. Everyone was more than just nice and just doing their job. They actually give "care and consideration " to their patients.
My fiance was involved in a really bad car accident. Grady Trauma Center saved his life while making sure he had the best care possible. They constantly monitored him and got him stable. They performed the necessary surgeries he needed despite how busy they were. We are truly grateful for the expertise and professionalism the nurses and doctors at this hospital have! Thank you all soo much!
