Unfortunately, this was the worst experience within healthcare that I've had to date, from check-in to check out. Once I arrived, I was asked if I submitted my medical records, which i did, but they could not locate them. I even called the medical records department beforehand to confirm and never received a call back. The front desk lady was nice and tried to locate them. Of course, my copay was requested while I continued to sit in the waiting room. After about 30-40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, I was called to the back. After taking my weight/vitals, I was asked to get undressed and I inquired why because I was there for a problem visit/second opinion and not an exam- unless necessary which illustrates why it was important for them to actually review my medical history and intake paperwork. I then sat in the exam room for almost another 40 mins just waiting on the doctor to arrive. Once she did, she apologized & explained that they just uploaded my paperwork to my chart so she needed to review them. Since it was so last minute, I felt a bit robbed of the attention to detail that I needed for my care. In all fairness, the doctor was nice and took the time to explain the issues I am experiencing, but I would not feel comfortable returning or having care received here due to the process. There was even confusion during my checkout, where I was held back because no aftercare notes were in my chart. I'm glad I had the sense to call for the doctor's assistant to confirm I was free to go or the front desk staff would probably still have me sitting there until today. This was just a terrible experience all around, which took away from the focus of the medical issue I was experiencing. I take my health seriously and I feel like I wasted 2 hours of my time. Please treat your patients better than this.
6/26/23. I wanted to give a shout out to Morgan, she’s another medical receptionist that is very helpful and knowledgeable about the services that are provided by this Doctors office. She also make it easy getting your questions answered or simply making an appointment very easy. Thanks for all you do! 6/6/23. If you have an appointment and you’re checking in Please ask for Geneva, front desk receptionist, she’s polite, patient and friendly. Whether I’m scheduling appointment over the phone or in person she’s always attentive to my needs and concerns. Geneva is the epitome of exception. customer service. 8/14/23.. I wanted to give Kelicy some Holey.. I’ve been meaning to leave this review to say thanks to her as well. You are appreciated for being incredibly helpful and attentive to my needs and concerns whenever I call to make an appointment or during my visit.
Dr. Ibezue is very transactional and doesn’t care about the patients. Despite my wishes to not have a resident doctor in training deliver my baby, she instead tried to convince me to let the resident who wrongly diagnosed me during labor and prescribed me drugs that’s weren’t needed for an infection that I did not have, she was a young African lady that go by the name Nelly but her real name is more difficult to say or spell deliver my baby. I told her I’d rather she deliver my baby and not a resident. She said ok and that she would deliver my baby but she lied. She let the resident “Nelly” deliver my child while I had a catheter inside of me as well as a monitor that I asked the resident to remove b4 I continue to push, the resident said that it didn’t need to be removed yet and it scraped my babies head leaving a long scratch. Dr. Ibezue just wants to do the least as possible which is why she didn’t want to honor my wishes and deliver my child. That’s would be more work for her instead of letting a resident do it. I did not feel heard or honored during the most precious time of my life. I wanted a black doctor that I could trust and I wanted to love it but I hate the fact that I ever delivered at Emory and that I ever went to Greater Women of Atlanta office. The wait times were horrible just to be seen for 5min and not thoroughly. All black women that I wanted to love so much but it was just awful. The room at Emory was so disgusting and the nurses did not know what they were doing. There was drawn blood left in my room from a previous patient and it had no name on it. The floors were so dusty that when u walk, stuff was flying around off the floor. There was one good nurse that seemed to really care and her name is Kenya. Everyone else seemed to be practicing on me and playing with my life.
I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYN ENOUGH!!! I moved to ATL in 2021 and never found the right GYN office, one that would be considered my primary. This office is it! From the receptionist, to the doctors, to even the lab nurses! You feel right at home. I met Dr. Melody and she went above and beyond even discussing future plans if children even in my future. I never had a GYN doctor ask me those questions. It made me feel seen and deeply taken care of. Pls, if you are looking for the right gyn this is it. Clean office, awesome views of midtown, and beautiful staff! You will not be disappointed
Everyone there is so friendly and inviting. The women there definitely do their jobs right and have great concern for all of their patients and the care of their babies. Hands down service. And very welcoming
I should not have to sacrifice my entire morning or afternoon every time I visit this office. It is truly unreal and insensitive. I sat in the office today for an hour and a half and I was never seen. When I finally decided to leave after sharing how long I was waiting I was asked if I wanted to be reschedule but by no means was there anything apology or empathy! I hate that this is a continued issue because I really like my doctor but this office is poorly ran. I can’t in good conscience return or recommend to anyone else.
Review from 2021 Do Not Deliver your Baby here if you are not educated about child birth and certain hospital labor and delivery practices. My experience delivering my first child here was borderline traumatizing and extremely disappointing. I blame Greater Atlanta Women’s Healthcare OB/GYN located in the building and Emory Nurses for the horrific experience I had with first time child birth. The doctorsI was told were going to deliver me; according to my OB/GYN based in the building weren’t available on the day of my labor. Don’t call it a coincidence but maybe because it was 12/31 & they were partying too hard. I was delivered by some random doctor, supposedly with their practice that was “On call”. Yet I had never heard of the possibility of being delivered by an on call doctor at the office, since they have you meet with the four or five practicing doctors at the office who I was repeatedly told were going to be one my delivery doctors. So, the doctor who delivered me showed up very comfortably dressed. In a 2021 sweatshirt, jeans, gloves and a mask. Didn’t seem appropriate. I was rushed to deliver, nurses kept checking me every two hours or so for further dilation. Seemingly very impatient although I had an epidural they pushed pitocin to make my contractions consistent. My partner & I were willing to be patient after the epidural, but the nurses were pressuring. One of them literally asked, “Are you all trying to have a New Years baby? Is that why you’re waiting” “We don’t mind, but if not it’s not really necessary”. They had me begin pushing at 9.5 CM dilated even after the pitocin, guess it wasn’t working fast enough. I had to hold my own thighs back which made no sense with the epidural making them heavy and also taking energy away from me being able to push. As a result I wasn’t able to push effectively, my child still wasn’t ready not faced down. I was forced to push with every contraction, which I couldn’t feel. I had to wear a mask since I refused a COVID test although all nurses etc were wearing masks, which restricted my breathing. My child’s heart rate declined causing for an Emergency C Section which put my child In the NICU! My partner and I are in our early 20s and did not expect all these complications especially having had a completely healthy pregnancy myself & my child had no issues through the term. I truly believe I could have delivered naturally had I refused certain intrusions on my body. Some doctors do not educate their patients enough. They expect you to just trust them, when more things go wrong walking into a hospital than at home. I only had two good nurses being that I had to stay there about 4 days after the surgery due to losing a lot of blood & required a transfusion. I came in the hospital with an extremely high blood count & they managed to drop it down to half that. After further research, many C Sections are not necessary & are usually caused by rushed delivery. They must need the rooms back fast lol. Something just didn’t make sense to me & they all seemed curt and burdened by me asking questions and needing everything to be elaborated. There’s so much more I could detail!!!
My first visit was amazing! The staff were very friendly, caring and knowledgeable. The health center was nice and clean. Service was fast and efficient. Very easy and convenient process over the phone and in-person. This is the best care I have received anywhere ever! Thank you all for all that you do!
Exceptional practice! Everyone was so kind and welcoming from the front desk staff to the back office staff including the laboratory staff. I have never felt so comfortable at a doctors office. Even the office manager pitched in to help assist with patients. Great example of team work. Dr. Eaton was so personable, kind and professional. I felt good about Dr. Eaton's assessment and plan. Ladies I highly recommend this practice you will not be disappointed.
waiting time is ridiculous! Each time I was there it was a 2 hour wait for another hour wait once I got in the room. I loved Dr . Whitney Lankford and Obzwe. Other than that the service and care was definitely Blah.... If I was pregnant again I would definitely try a different facility. But, if you have to go there ask for them and bring some snacks and have nothing planned for after the appointment.
