Wow, so beautiful! We went on a Sunday and it wasn’t busy at all! We used a couple buses & hiked just over a mile. Geology Museum was a nice stop. Packed lunch and sat down to enjoy the views while we ate. The big black birds were pretty obnoxious. Still some snow and ice along the trail. Saw some elk? up close that were crossing the path. It’s mostly flat but definitely some little hills along the way. It was around 50° when we were there and no clouds! Great temp for hiking but I’d recommend hand and toe warmers. Definitely looking forward to returning here someday!
Words can't describe the beauty and enormity of this natural wonder, it is a must see with your own eyes, as unfortunately as lovely as the photos are, they also don't do it justice. Goosebumps. We visited at the beginning of March, temperature in the morning well below the freezing point. One tip is to come early in the morning to skip the crowds at the car entrance to the park.
Absolutely stunning. Tons of places to stop and just take in the view. Must see in person. I have no clue who could possibly leave less than 5 stars on this. It's the grand canyon, doesn't get any better!
Took about a million photos because this is one nice crack! This trail is long and easy. It’s mainly paved and I saw people of all ages hiking along it. Great for many photo opportunities! So we didn’t have to walk back, we took the shuttle bus back after hiking for about 2 hours
This is one of the wonders on Earth! Being here, nearby the canyon, is an amazing nature experience. You have to be with your eyes wide open to admire and take care of yourself. When you think of Grand Canyon maybe you can imagine the desert, but it's also a forest ecosystem, fresh buy sunny. People of the reserve are kind with tourists, but visitors must respect all the limits set by the authorities. Bus hop on / hop off is really usefull, but walking through the road is fun. There are a lot of wonderfull views from the side! To enjoy the visit you're going to walk and walk under the sun, so, you must use the right clothes, shoes, hat, and sunblock. Drink watter frequently 'cause this is going to last a few hours. Also take some snacks for the trip, because there and not a lot a stores or vending machines.
Easy paved walking trail between the two major canyon overlook visitor and lodge areas. Mostly flat with spectacular vista views of the canyon. Walk the Rock history on the trail.
Amazing views! Try to hike Bright Angel trail. It’s easy to hike down into the canyon, but coming up is mandatory and risky. No water supply and very less shady parts. I don’t recommend this hike to people who have any leg problems or any kind of breathing problems.
Grand Canyon South Rim has a lot to offer for both young & old. You could do loooooong hikes or ride the bus from observation point to the next. This canyon provides beautiful breathtaking views with lasting memory
Is awesome especially in snow conditions adds a more prominent depth from Canyon Layer to other Canyon Layers the distance. Helicopter In South Rim Grand Canyon Arizona highly recommended decent prices and well worth it
Amazing views, great exercise and wonderful people to meet along the way. We didn't get as far as we had hoped to sand it took way longer than we thought it would take. Bring plenty of water, electrolytes, Pedialyte, and some snacks with you, but please don't litter. Walking sticks might be recommended for those who have issues with inclined paths up or down angle. But make sure they are good, light, sturdy and comfortable walking sticks. Start early in the morning for allowing enough time to make it back up the canyon wall. Enjoy!
